Happy New Year!!

My wish is that everyone remains happy, healthy, and of course employed. 2008 was a heck of a roller coaster and I will enjoy one last ride through the day.
Cole was coming back from Woodruff and called me 15 min into his ride. He put the front tires in the snowbank. He is his mothers child. He was just upset and called me. He got out about 30 minutes later. He left in plenty of time to get back to Point for his job.
Bill's just rushing to get the end of the year things done at work and called me in crisis mode.
Kyle is skiing with a friend but we got a call confirming that he would be at another friends house by 3. Ooops! he won't be back until 5 and he never told us anything about this.
Clay is the only one having a great day playing with cousins Bailey and Afton. We go to pick him up after work today.
I'm working by myself today and am just now taking a lunch break. I have about an hours worth of work to do.
So as you can see 2008 is going to be a ride right to the end. We're staying home tonight and watching movies and eating popcorn. Hopefully a quiet way out of the year will bring a quiet way in.

End of the Year thoughts

As the end of the year is near I am reflecting on the highlights of the year.
1- Ski trip to Whitecap Mountain (watching Clay go down the big hill on day 2)
2-Cole getting his drivers license. (I'm still not sure who was happier Cole or Bill)
3- Watching Clay put on the catchers equipment during baseball. He had to wrap the straps around twice.
4- Kyle going to the state baseball tournament
5- Bill catching his first Musky
6- Kyle catching a larger Northern and almost going into cardiac arrest
7- Noah's ark trip. Watching Bailey go down his first waterslide.
8- Cole making varsity football and watching his team go onto have a fantastic season. (Also watching Bill get so excited and at times forget he was a coach and was just a Dad watching his son)
9- Grandpa as ballboy at the football games
10- Watching Clayton play in full football pads for the first time.
11- Kyle getting his first deer on his first deer season
12- The giant snowman made by the kids at Christmas at the Pelot's
13- Cole going on his first duck hunting trip without Dad
14- Seeing Cole get his new car
15- Homecoming attire (swimsuits)
16- Caleb answering the phone "Who's on my phone"
These are just a few of the years fun moments I can remember. I hope next year has as many if not more.

Feeling icky Saturday

Well being on vacation is fun if those certain little critters stay away. I had a bug thought I got rid of it and it started to move back in Christmas eve. I'm not sure if it's the bug or the bug killers that are making me feel yucky. It could be the rotton weather we're having. Poor Cole had his first all guys trip snowmobiling and staying at a cabin up north planned but 2 days of warm (35-51) have kind of put a damper on things. All the trails are now closed and there is a snow advisory for tonight but I don't think it will be enough to reopen the trails to allow riders on it. Bill is still helping him tune things up and get things ready just in case.

Christmas hangover

Well it's definately the day after Christmas. I'm picking up missed wrapping paper, listening to a very loud tv playing the Xbox, helping Clay find his missing new DS, and listening to Bill and Kyle curse while putting the ping pong table (which I am sure will be bringing lots more noise tonight) together. The dishes are done, laundry in piles and no magic fairy will come do it. Hey Beth when you come back make sure you bring me a housekeeping fairy I need help! All is quiet on a rainy, yes I said it right rainy day. I hope my travelers get out and home safely. Enjoy the day.

Mom get up Santa came

Clay waited up until about 11:30 to catch the big guy but he didn't show up. 7:45 He flies into our rooms telling us it's time to get up. We hear him yelling at his brothers to get up within 15 min all packages were opened and that has been the last we have seen of our children. Cole went upstairs to hook up and play his Xbox 360 Clay went downstairs to play his new Wii games and Kyle hooked up his new CO2 tank and started firing the practice balls at his new target. So much for Christmas at the Rogers household. Bill's starting to fix breakfast. We are deciding which time to go see our movie because with another 3 inches of snow yesterday the boys would like to hit the trails today after they tune up the sleds. For those of you in the sunny and warm part of the world we woke up to 6 below today with an expected high of 19 by noon. Have a wonderful day! Miss and love you all.

You better watch out You better not Cry

SANTA CLAUSE is coming to town!!!! For those of you that don't believe in the jolly man in the red suit I want you to think of all of your Christmases. Think of the times when something has happened during this season that has been totally unexpected. You got a call from someone you were thinking about that you haven't heard from for a while. A gift shows up that you have no idea where it came from. Someone does something unexpected or unpredicted. There is always the spirit of the big man in all of us. There are always those miracles in our lives that happen everyday but around this time of year seem more special. I hope you all have a wonderful day today and tomorrow and I hope you all find that hidden spirit in you.

Christmas Cheer

This year Christmas time has brought many different feelings and the biggest of them is humility. It's no secret how much we like to spoil those we love. This year with the economy we had to tighten our belts which is very difficult for me to accept. This makes me very sad but very excited to know that we can still bring joy to those we know. This year we have been hit by illnesses in our family and friends and I am so grateful they are still with us to celebrate. I am extremely grateful Bill and I have stable jobs when so many of our friends are loosing theirs. No present could ever be better than to have my family and friends around me. The hugs, laughter, and sometimes tears we share are more precious to me than anything anyone could buy me. It's easy to fall into a scrooge character especially these days. This Christmas has brought back to me the true meaning of why we are celebrating. Christmas should be about giving of oneself whether it be time, a smile, a simple act of kindness, not yelling at the other cars during traffic. It should be a reflection of all that is all good in life and all gifts that have been given to us that can't be bought in the store. So the only thing left to say is thank you all for those gifts you have unknowingly given me and know I have and will treasure them all. I warned you all I get very melancholy this time of year

I'm on Vacation!

Well after a pretty dull day at work I am on vacation. I have off tomorrow and all to myself until 2:30. Boys have dentist appointments I have to take them to. I can't wait to have a little p&Q before the mad rush of the holidays start. Of course, I'm waiting for Bill because as always we wait until the last minute to shop. We know what we are getting the boys so waiting doesn't really matter. It stops them from snooping. I have never done that in my lifetime. I don't know where the kids get it. Of course I'm on the naughty list already so a little white shouldn't do anymore damage. Scotch tape was the best thing invented for snoopers. You could pull the tape off the package and peek without anyone knowing. I hope everyone stays safe in their travels. I am so jealous today of those people who are in a warmer climate. Where are the 'Rents?

We've all heard of where's Waldo but we're playing where are the 'rents (parents). No one knows for sure where they are or if they left for sunnier days. I usually get a call that says "we're leaving keep everyone warm abd healthy" Parents! they grow up so fast. It's a sad day when they don't need you. LOL I just hope they have good weather traveling and get there safe.

Tonight we have Clay's Christmas program. I can't wait to see what they do this year. It's always fun because someone does something we end up laughing about.

Here's Monday!

Well it's Monday! That's all I can say about today. We had a wonderful time up at the Pelot Cabin this weekend celebrating Christmas. The kids were a lot of fun and it was great to see them all running around. No pictures to show yet because I have to do it the old fashion way until my digital returns. The kids all had their comic moments and I'm still giggling about them. My brother-in-law was on the naughty side and if I were him I'd worry if he was getting coal in his stocking. My husband was right there with him. As long as I never have to see Cricket on the Hearth again I should be OK. This is a very twisted cartoon on a Christmas Classic DVD. You need a lot of alcohol for this one. I don't know if I will ever recover. Hope everyone has a great week ahead.

Bring on the Presents!

Why is it when it comes to Christmas I turn into a 5 year old. Give me give me give me. I don't really care if it's a pack of gum but I start to shake when I see pretty wrapping paper. I love buying presents and giving them even more. I think I might be worse than Kyle when it comes to this time of year. Clay is excited to see all of his cousins tomorrow. Cole can't wait to see Caleb and play with him. Kyle just likes to be the big kid and be worshiped. Hopefully the weather holds out for us to get there safely. Time to celebrate!

Meet the Sparkly Toes

It's the Christmas season. Cards are coming in, gifts are being requested, tree is up and cookies are being made. I went to one of my favorite blogs and found out you could find your true name of the season. I put in my family's names and this is what I found:

Terry is elf for Merry Sparkly Toes

Bill is elf for Peppermiz Sparkly Toes

Cole is elf for Sparky Sparkly Toes

Kyle is elf for Daffy Sparkly Toes (kind of fits don't you think?)

Clay is elf for Nipper Sparkly Toes (he is a little nipper)

Kind of gets you in the spirit doesn't it. Thanks Jen!

Silent Sunday

Things are pretty quiet here. Cole went skiing yesterday. It was freezing but he said skiing wasn't to bad. Only part of his face got cold. Kyle was at a friends house and so he's just sluggish today. They both went outside with Bill to work on their snowmobiles. Clay and I went to see Bolt since St. Nick left movie tickets in their shoes. I got most of my sewing done now it's time to bake and put up the tree. I like this time of year but it makes me very melancholy. I just watched the Packers get beat in the final play. YIKES. It was a good game otherwise. On to a wonderful busy week.

Happy St. Nick's Day!

Well 2 of the 3 kids woke up to find their shoes filled with goodies. Don't worry St. Nick didn't forget one or think just one of them were bad. Kyle's at a friends house. Movie tickets and candy were found by all so today Clay and I are off to see Bolt.
It snowed and blowed here all night long we now have about 6 inches and Cole's dieing to get his snowmobile out but Bill's got it tuck in the garage and they both need to get things moved to get them out.
Life's pretty quiet here today just getting things ready for the holidays. Clay and I are also going to be making cookies this evening. I wonder how much dough will actually make it into the oven.

16 and has a JOB!

I know we discussed the worse jobs we've all had but let's all think about our first job. For most of us it was dealing with slobbering kids and poop. OK not much has changed for some of us just the age bracket. We all were thrilled to get that first paycheck. Cole got his first real job. This one doesn't deal with snot nosed kids or screaming people at the grocery store or nasty men at the mill. Cole is going to be working at WSPT radio. He starts his training tonight. From what he has told us he gets to push a button to play commericals during a broadcast. Are any of you thinking aww poor baby? I'm not! the kid got a perfect job. I just hope it lasts. We all know how he'll feel when he gets that first paycheck. To quote my father "I just got a raise". It will be fun on the first weekend he has to work. He'll understand what its really like then.

I'm one day closer to the weekend!

What a week already. Let me just run you down the highlights of this week so far. Monday morning got off to a wicked start. Our computer crashed at work and my partner had to spend the morning trying to figure out what's going on so I got to treat most of our caseload. Tuesday morning I had someone follow me down the road to work flashing their lights at me. Keep in mind the Nursing Home I work at is in an area down by the river and there are no street lights at all. It's as black as can be. This person followed me into my parking lot. I thought he left but I get out of my car and he's parked in the visitors lot with the reverse lights on and watching me walk into the building. I stopped and tried to see if I could get a licence plate number but I couldn't see it (go figure) I know it wasn't a unmarked car and I know for once I wasn't even going the speed limit (I checked and I was going 26 in a 35. I know unusual for me) Today was just down right busy. My partner got stuck in what should have been a half an hour meeting for an hour and 45 min. We also got 2 more patients extra to see so I started to see her case load. I've had about an hour overtime each day and it doesn't look like it's going to let up soon. I love it when we are busy (job security). A girl I work with, her husband lost his job at Wausau homes yesterday so I am serious when I say busy is good. Especially around the holiday time. Well I'm off to go get St. Nick's stuffers. Have a great rest of the week.

Black Friday and Thank You!

I know I'm a little late on the "what are you thankful for" so I will just say thank you to all of you that I love. I am grateful to have all of you in my life and for the ability to give me perspective in my life. I love you all.

Thanksgiving was wonderful. The Wolf's Den did a wonderful job again this year for the meal. We all lost on the bar slots. Bill was winning but we were tired of waiting for him He did win $10. I forgot.

Boys all went out hunting until noon. Dad saw a doe but that was it. Cole's getting buck fever. Mom,Clay and I did go and stimulate the economy today. I got a couple of gifts done. I love this time of year. Kids are all watching Wall*E and it's quiet for a little while. Have a great weekend.

Not to bad for a Monday!

Cole has his football wrap up tonight and is getting his division 6 championship medal.
I got a call about 12:30 telling me that Kyle got his first deer. (see www.seniorreport.blogspot.com) for pictures.
Clay had an awsome day.
Bill and I are so proud of all the boys.
Not to shabby for a Monday.

Now I usually don't chime in to often about the political workings on my blog however I do need to say that the Government does need to bail out the big 3 and for these reasons. By not providing the money to save the factory jobs we will loose not only those jobs related directly with the manufacturing of the vehicles but those also involved with providing the paint, rubber, tires, belts, filters, printed material, dealerships, service centers, fiberglass, research and development of new technology to increase the efficiency of our cars. This bail out is deeper than just the plants. Look in WI and see the factories that have closed, look and the dealerships that have went under just in our area. Think about the filter factory and foundry in Waupaca that all have ties to the automotive industry. This also affects the industrial vehicles that these companies make as well. If this industry is allowed to go under we loose a lot more than $20 billion.

Artsy, Lazy weekend

Laundry's done, kids are playing, life is good. I'm going to the high school play(s) (2-1 act) tonight. I'm meeting Deb for the movie tomorrow afternoon. I hope the movie is as good as the book. I keep seeing the previews and can't wait. I jump every time the phone rings hoping it's the mighty hunter telling me he got one. I just hope they have fun.

Friday Follies

Well Kyle's off today to Grandma and Grandpa's where he feels he will be spoiled. I'd like to say this won't happen but I know differently. He's just vibrating he's so excited about going hunting tomorrow morning. I asked him if he would feel bad about not seeing or getting a deer this season and he said no he was just happy he didn't have to go to school next week. Well I guess there's always a bright side.

Cole's not sure what he's doing for hunting. We've all got this rotten cold and he's been at school late every night doing sound for the play. He needs a good nights sleep. He'll probably wait until next weekend to go just so he can recover. He's not to upset about having to go to school next week. Mr. Social.

Clay's going to be lonesome for Kyle next week. He says he won't but he looks for him everyday when he gets home.

Bill and I both have been helping with the sets because the gentleman that did them before is the teacher who recently had a stroke. We will be attending the play I think Sat. night. I will be going to see Twilight probably Sun. Our midnight showing was sold out. Who let's their teenage girl stay out that late on a school night.

Have a good weekend and hopefully we will all have deer tales to tell. Good luck Tim, Troy, and Al.

Who said life was going to slow down?

Boy I thought after football was done with all three boys life would get back to normal. We could actually all have supper together. WRONG! Cole is doing sound for the play this weekend. Bill and I were asked to make a magic mirror. Which did turn out pretty cool if I do say so. Cole has joined the bowling league and is bowling every Tues after school. Kyle is in Destination Imagination which meets every Tues for 2 hours and then there's Clay who feels he should be just as busy as the other two.

I got some Christmas presents made. I can't show them to you yet. That's as far as I've gotten. Oh well there's still 3 weeks until I have to be ready for round 1. Kids aren't saying much this year. Clay's testing the waters to see if Santa is real. Great last one to believe. I forget sometimes he's a 3rd grader already.

Kyle's getting excited about this weekend. He's starting to get things ready to hunting. I asked him if I had to worry about him freaking out if he got a deer, he hesitated then said No, well probably but I'll be with Grandpa so don't worry. OK lots of reassurance there. Grandpa will have to stop laughing at him first. 20 of the 60 kids in his class are going hunting and most of those won't be in school next week. (Boys and Girls) His one teachers so excited about this he cancelled the test and gave everyone an A. It's the most kids he's ever had hunt. He's a big hunter too.

It's good to be a parent

Let me just say there were times when I questioned if we did the right thing by sending our kids to Catholic schools. However today was not one of them. One of Cole's teachers (he teaches tech ed. Computer drafting and stage design) recently had a stroke because his cancer has spread all over. The kids found out that the insurance is willing to cover only 70% because they feel this is pre existing. The Kids not the parents organized a benefit for this teacher. They have already raised close to $5000 before this. They had a spaghetti dinner, bake sale, silent auction and basket sale. 3 bands donated their time and talents. I give the kids credit. Cole was there since 9:50am it started at 11:30. They had so many kids working they were sending them away. The teacher got out of the hospital for a day pass and he looks pretty good with all things considering. Bill started to approach him and he grabbed him right away. This type of event makes me proud to be a part of this community. I just wish there was something more we could do.

Sad ending to a great season!

Well folks it over. Edgar beat Pacelli 14-0. Pacelli didn't let them score the entire 2nd half. Both teams were pretty evenly matched defensively. Cole had a great game but as always during playoffs there were tears. He caused 2 fumbles and had several really good tackles. They are considered Divisional Region 6 champions. I would have loved to see them go on to state however part of me is glad it's all over. I can't wait to see the final stats sheets to see how many tackles and sacks he got this year. I can rest now until April when track and baseball start.

Andy's 10!

Happy Birthday Andy! Hope you had fun at Kalahari!

Friday, November 14, 2008

Let's GO Pacelli!

Well tonights the night. We face Edgar in the semi-finals. I'm so nervous. Cole had to be at school today at 10:30 for brunch. At noon they did a walk thru and then they got some free time. They all have to be back today at 3 to start getting ready. I hope they do it. I hate the play offs because every game ends with some big boys in tears. Coach is starting all seniors again but Cole will get in about the 2nd or third play. More updates tomorrow. Hopefully I will be able to say we have 1 more game.

Explanation Needed

Ok as many of you may have seen the wonderful pic. with my mouth open, this deserves an explanation. I was asked by my son and friends if I would get the crowd going during the game since our fans are really quiet. I mean overly quiet. So I was down in the stands cheering "Let's go Red!" I am usually fairly quiet these days in the stands. I do get excited but this time I was obnoxiously loud. I did get the fans cheering though. And to answer your question No we don't have cheerleaders. Hey we won the game! By the way several of my so called "Friends" have e-mailed me the picture with a lot of LOL's after.

The boys are getting ready for the game. Home is actually pretty quiet. The last two nights we've been playing Monopoly. Not good with Cole. He's beaten us both times. I don't quite understand how he does it.

Teacher conferences are this week. I think I missed Clays. I had the day and time screwed up. Oh well I'll reschedule. Kyle's was pretty positive and Cole doesn't think I need to go see any of his. That just means I need to go see all.

Monday

Well after a wonderful weekend of marital bliss I am finally calm enough to write.
Cole was upset after Sat. game when he got home. I asked him what was wrong. He went to Taco Bell afterwards to get something to eat and the whole Coleman team was there. Let me back up a minute. During the game about the fourth quarter a Coleman running back went down after a tackle. He was unable to put weight on his leg and everyone was thinking it was his ACL. Now back to present. Cole saw this player and asked him how he was. He said he thought he broke his ankle and fractured a couple of ribs. Some of you can see where this is going. It was Cole who tackled him and took him out. What a terrible way to end a great game. I guess when I tell him to hit 'em hard, hit 'em low and make them remember you in the morning he took it to heart. Cole feels terrible.

I didn't make it to Milwaukee on Sunday and Bill slept on the couch for the first time in 19 years of marriage. Let's just say I'm not as important as the rest of his social circle and leave it at that.

Kyle and Clay had a wonderful weekend. Clay stayed wrapped up in a blanket all day on Sunday and Kyle went out and shot the gun. He really likes it and was 1 inch away from a bulls eye.

Well on to the start of another week. We play Friday night in Wausau hope and cheer we win then the kids are on to state the following Thurs. Edgar said they would like a Friday game so that it gives them one more day to prepare for state. Got to get past us first boys.

UGH! is all I have to say!

We did it! On to Level 4

Well I can finally breathe. Pacelli won 35-6 against Coleman. Now this sounds like a huge score but Coleman scored first and kept us on our toes until the 3rd quarter. Cole had a good game. He and Nathan got the quarterback as he started throwing the ball and caused an interception to another of their good friends. Boy did they celebrate. I was a little afraid of the coaches. They were all getting excited and jumping about I thought someone was going to break a hip or stroke out. It's good to be a coach's wife. I was up in a warm booth with lots of good snacks we all brought. Well the next game is either Fri or Sat at a neutral site. We're hoping for DC Everest in Wausau. We just have to wait and see who wins the Edgar and Clear Lake game. Chances are good it's Edgar but we're hoping it Clear Lake.

The picture above is from last game. Cole had just got a huge tackle and was celebrating with Dad (or Grandpa for whoever is reading this.)

Busy, Exciting Weekend ahead!

Well the butterflies are flying and the nerves are about shot. I hope the boys pull it off tomorrow then the fun begins. The boys are excited and ready to win! I hope and pray they do it without major injuries tomorrow. I'll be sure to be looking for Coleman players with a certain name on them. The coaches wives will be in the booth tomorrow if it's cold. We are all bringing things to snack on. After the game we are going to Coach Steve's for a party. I need to be home early so I can sleep to make it to Milwaukee Sunday morning to walk away arthritis. So as always wear RED and WHITE and root for the home team!

Ain't Democracy Great!

Well 2 of the 3 schools the kids go to voted for Obama. Kyle's voted McCain. I was impressed with both speeches last night and it even appeared John got a little upset when the crowd booed. I only wish Joe was standing with Barack during his speech. It would have seemed more real to me. I thought Barack's speech addressed everyone and this morning things didn't seem so heavy. I just pray he can lead this country back to the positive not only here but throughout the world. It will be nice to have some class back in the house.

Cole's at the Jr. retreat in Chippewa Falls today. He had to make sure the shirt he wore was tight enough to show off his muscles. Oh brother. Kyle's at DI tonight and Clay just left for his friends. Bill's getting ready to go for practice. Life in the Rogers' household.

Tuesday, November 4, 2008

VOTE! "08!

Well I did my civic duty and voted. What happens now we'll just have to wait and see. Let's just hope the country isn't as stupid as it has been for the past 8 years. Reader's Digest did a poll and asked the world leaders who they would like to see as the next President of the United States and Barack won! Go figure! At 2 o'clock there were already over 2000 people in my township that voted. Amazing! Let's hope this over soon so I can get some sleep tonight. I don't really want a nail biter.

On to Level 3!

I will have an ulcer before this is all over. All day long I feel sick and have butterflies. The begining of the game made me even a more nervous wreck because Wild Rose scored first and with great ease. That's where is ended. The first quarter was 7-7. We then came back and won 42-20. The last two opposing TD's occured when our Freshman were in. Cole had a great game and even had a wonderful QB sack. Unfortunately another team mate got announced for it but Cole did get credit for it on the team stats sheet, per my on field spy aka Dad. Dad did a wonderful job on the field again. I just always worry he'll get tackled. He went to the end zone to catch an extra point ball and didn't realize until it was over it was Cole. After the game one of the families had a party for all the team and parents. They own Michelle's restraunt so it was a wonderful place to have it. A lot of parents who don't normally go out after the game showed up so that was nice.

The down side to the game was that one of older (80) fans got assulted by the other team. We were told during the game by the kids that the fans were terrible. This gentleman and his family were sitting on the opposite side of the fields because it is more convient for this man to use. He is a very quiet man and does not have anyone playing on the team until next year. The kids went over to visit him and the fans were nasty to them then. This poor man was knocked down several times and ended up dislocating his shoulder. What was wrong with these people and no one tried to stop the attack. At the party the kids were telling us things the fans were saying to them. Come on! it's highschool football.

We also had a Halloween scare on Friday night. We heard a ton of sirens and then the flight for life 'copter go over our house. It was shining it's search lights in our yard looking for a place to land. Now this all seems pretty exciting except for the fact it happened at 11:41 at night and Cole was on his way home. Heart attack city. Bill calls him on his phone to find out where he was and we get "WHAT! I'm coming home now!" Ok pretty hard to be upset with the kids when you know he's ok. Cole got to the 4-way stop sign by our house and the road was blocked he asked permision to go through and told the police where he lived. The Police told him he better not go past there or they would come after him. There was an accident down the road from us where a 27 year old guy hit a tree driving to fast and was drunk. A couple of minutes later and he could have met Cole down the road. Let's just say lots of prayers were said.

Thursday Thoughts

How do you know when it's true your children look like you? Everyone sees something different in each of your children. Each one of my boys has something that resembles me and something that is Bill. More people are telling me Cole looks like me. OK I get the eyes. Kyle is looking more like Bill and Clayton looks more like me at that age than any of the others. Needless to say looking like your mom when your a boy is not a compliment. Cole's getting a little upset. I ran into a girl I went to high school with last night and Cole was with me. She said she couldn't believe first of all how big his was but how much he looked like me. OK picture Cole trying to be polite and not trying to roll his eyes to the back of his head. I heard it all the way home. I didn't think I was that bad looking. I guess I am totally delusional. Oh well I am uncool and ugly to a 16 year old. By the way he's going to a Halloween party tomorrow. I asked him what he's going as, a studly defensive lineman. I was stupid enough to ask how he's going to do that. He said he's just going as himself. UGH!

Phenomenal Defense!

They did it!!! We won 50 -7 last night. This game was so much fun to watch. The Knights only scored once we put our freshman in. Cole said this team was very classy. It was a good night! Cole got several tackles and a QB sack. He was really pumped and you could tell. It's good to be a coaches wife. We got to sit in the booth and we were nice and warm. We now play Wild Rose on Sat at 7. Another tough team! I will be glad when I can stop feeling sick before games. Our head coach, Bob, got tackled last night. He was having problems last night with his hip before the game and this just made it worse. Bill said he hit his head pretty hard also. He's a little worried about Coach.

I just got home from a class. It was a nice review. I do know that I need to take the certification test to be ATP (adaptive technology professional) certified. My boss is also going to this. It would help me job wise.

This other kids are just tired from yesterday. Bill is going to vote for all conference selections tonight. He always likes doing this. It gives him a chance to talk with other coaches. He also likes to hear that he always has really good kickers and what a nice job he does. It's good for the ego.

Nervous Monday

I don't know who's more nervous about tomorrow? I can't eat. Cole and Bill keep watching film and going over a ton of stuff. They both figure this will be the toughest game until they have to face Edgar. Life of a football mom and wife is not one for the faint of heart. Keep cheering for us around 7:30 tomorrow night. I keep praying that no one gets seriously hurt. I also pray Cole knocks the snot out of someone. OK so I have a competitive side to me go figure. GO CARDS!

Quiet wet weekend

Well it's official! I saw my first snowflake today. YUCK! I wish it would have waited at least 2 more weeks. It's going to be cold for the football games coming up. It's a good thing to be a coaches wife. I get to sit in the booth.

Clay had a costume party yesterday. He had a blast. The parents must be very well off. She had HUGE diamond earrings and the gifts were all going to Operation Bootstrap. No one was to bring a gift for the birthday boy. Nice idea. She had the park decorated for Halloween and the UWSP drama club came to perform. The kids all got to carve a pumpkin and bob for apples. The TV news team was there to report on the donation. The mom thought operation bootstrap called but I think it was the teachers. The entire class got invited.

Cole and Bill had practice Friday and Sat. Cole's been a bum today. Bill went to pick up our pork. OK now where to put it.

Kyle been busy with homework. He has to make a family tree. It's kind of fun to do with him.

Me I get to do laundry and cleaning. Always the Cinderella in the family. I got demoted from Queen today go figure.

It's a 3-Peat!!!

Wow what a game! It was a heart stopper up to the end. We were up 20-7 at the half. Wittenberg-Birnamwood had to win to make it to the play off games and they came at us with a vengeance. The game was 28-27 with 38 SECONDS! left to the game. Wittenberg is about to go for 2 Cole's buddy Nathan comes out at the snap and knocks it down. OUR BALL!!!! WE WIN!!!!
Cole had a terrible game. With that said I do have to say he was double teamed by 2 guys who weighed 560# together. He also got a helmet to the hip. If it was his butt it would have bounced off. I say this not because he's a chunk but because he's in pretty good shape. His hip is pretty colors today. All the coaches, wives and kids went out to Hilltop to celebrate. Coach Bob's wife thanked Bill for looking out for him on the field. We had a great ball boy so it was one more thing the coaches didn't have to worry about. Thanks DAD. It was parents night so I had Dad stand in for Bill. It was nice not to have to stand there by myself. Cole just got paid for reffing and we were at Best Buy today. He was looking at FM converters for his ipod. Here's this conversation:
C: "I don't know if I really want to spend my money."
M: "I don't like you spending my money either"
C: "But I love spending your money."

Kyle has a Halloween dance tonight. He's been going back and forth about dressing up. We were going to make him the candy man. We were going to get a suit jacket from goodwill and pin candy all over it. He thought that was cool until we went in to get the jacket then decided he wasn't sure if he wanted to go. That is until we got home and his friend called him now they are going as Brewer fans. By the way we did get his hair cut finally today. He hadn't had it cut since July.

Clay is just glad to have the day off. He has a birthday party (Costume party) tomorrow. He wants to be the grim reaper. It's a good thing we have everything for that.

Tuesday, October 21, 2008

Oh my it's Tuesday!

My week is so busy I forgot that it was Tuesday already. Between football games, dr. apt.'s and DI practice (www.idodi.org) it's a little crazy. Cole won his football game but didn't have the greatest game. He was and is upset about one of his teachers. This is the schools tech ed teacher. He also does a lot with the plays. Cole really enjoys him. Unfortunately he has cancer and over the weekend had a stroke. Cole got pretty teary eyed when telling me about it before the game. Bill's gotten to know this teacher well as is equally upset. The cancer has spread and I don't think he's long for this world.

Kyle was hone sick today. I think it's the same bug Cole had last week. Clay is fighting me doing his homework. I'll give him an hour to play before I tackle it again.

I will not, I repeat, I will not ever curse my children with the "I hope you have a child just like you" Sleepless nights worrying is not worth it. I may say I hope you have a child better than you. This curse was given to both Bill and I and it's come on with a vengeance.

Windy Weekend

Boy the weather would be nice if it wasn't for the wind. Clay's last football game was yesterday. They had a huge party afterwards. The SPASH and Pacelli players were there. The kids kept coming up to Clay and telling him that they got his brothers autograph. Clay was NOT impressed with this. Cole on the other hand loves to be worshipped so this was a great time for him. He's done reffing now and can't wait to get the check. Kyle we haven't seen all weekend. He's been at this friends homes. I don't know when we'll see him.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

The last Friday night lights for the year!

Cole has a game in Wey-Fre tonight. It's should be lots of fun considering it is raining and cold. His last game of the regular season is next Thursday. Maryis riding with me to the game which should be fun. Clay will make sure he has his movies with him. Good thing Indiana Jones came out today to keep him entertained. Kyle is going to the game with a friend who's brother also plays.

It's been a wonderful week and I'm just waiting for the bottom to drop out. It always seems when things go this good something catastrophic happens to me. Let's hope not. Have a great weekend.

Wednesday, October 15, 2008

It's Wednesday!

Kyle had his last game yesterday. They won 48-6 against Port Edwards. He was really excited because they let him run the ball the last quarter of the game. He's a little bulldozer. Just remeber he usually is a lineman. It was pretty entertaining. He did get some yardage though.

Clay only has one more practice and game. Cole and Bill have 2 more weeks until playoffs start. It's play until you loose. I hope we don't loose until Nov 21st (state tourny is the 20th).

Time to get Clay's costume going. He wants to be the grim reaper. Good thing for my little alter boy.

Kyle's Last Fotball game of the season

I'm about to head off to a really crazy game of football. I guess the kids are not playing in their regular spots. If they loose this game Kyle will be unbearable to live with. The coaches said that they are just going out to have fun today. Yikes, this did not go over well with Kyle. He was fuming all night long about this. He was told he was not kicking or playing defense. I wonder though if our superstar quarterback will be starting today (aka coaches kids and all plays are made around him to show off his talents)

Cole came home sick today. Bill made him come outside to help with something as they were butchering the pigs. OH Bill found out very quickly how wrong that was. Cole was made even sicker because Mom made him fill out his job application. No I did not show him Jen's blog. By the way I still can't touch onions without my hands smelling for days. Thank you Little Caesar's.

Clay is at the after school study hall and then has practice tonight. This is his last week also. We are starting to slow down. I don't know what I will do next week when I have no running to do.

What handsome young men

Well for a Monday it's not been to bad. It's Columbus Day so not mail=no bills. Our big wigs didn't show up today. Cole is up at Bonduel for a JV game. I asked him if it was important that I go up and he said no. He will be only playing offense and very little since they took the freshman up with them because their game got cancelled. We can't afford to have anyone else hurt. Kyle's pictures haven't come in yet so that's why he's not up there. He's not happy about practice tonight. It's his last one but he's really tired from this weekend and I guess he has a lot of homework. I'll help him get it done. The Piggies got out again tonight. Good thing they meet their maker tomorrow. Can we say MMMMM Bacon?

Sunday, October 12, 2008

To Warm to hunt

Kyle and Bill went out again last night and then again this morning. Poor thing didn't see anything. Bill talked to a couple of his friends that were out hunting as well and they didn't see anything either. Bill was at least hoping he would see something so Kyle could get a shot. The weekend wasn't a total waste. Denise had to empty out her freezer to make room for the cow and pig we're butchering this week. So it's roasts and steaks! YUM!

Clay and I went to go see IGOR. Let's just say I don't think it's even worth the rental. I thought it would be a cute Halloween movie. It is cute but not worth the money.

Fields on Fire Boys!

Clay's coach always yells "Fields on fire boys quick feet quick feet!" Not only did CJ (there are 3 Clayton's on his team) have quick feet he was able to run like crazy today. Clay had a 11 yard run, a 4 yard run and couple of 1-2 yarders. These were up the middle and he really pushed his way through. The coaches were impressed with how he held onto the ball. He has his older brothers to thank for that. They won 22-6.

Now that I am allowed to talk about the rest of the family (Kyle was suffering middle child syndrome the other day) At the meal on Thursday, pre-game for the high school football team, the boys came in at 3:05 and everyone was fed and out by 3:31. We had count all our fingers and make sure we had both of our arms afterwards. The boys are very polite and surprisingly very quiet. Remember 41 boys all coming in at the same time.

Kyle got skunked this morning. Bill said they didn't see anything at all. Kyle thinks he took him to a dead zone, just like fishing.

I was getting out of the shower after Clays game and I hear "Hello anyone home?" I grab my robe and go see who it is. It's our neighbor behind us. He's come to tell me our pigs are out running around. Yikes! I quick get changed and go out to do a little pig wrangling. Bill's still in Pittsville, Cole's with Nathan. I get the pigs cornered and I'm going to stand watch until Bill gets home but the Cole and Nathan show up and we get the little buggers back in. They busted through the wooden fence putting a hole in the fence. I'm so glad they are getting the ax on Tues.

Kyle vs. Tri- County

Kyle's the first guy. The one with the red and white arms. Next to him is his friend Jacob. Jacob is about 1/2 of Kyle's size but his is an awsome lineman.
This is Kyle and Jesse (Amy's son #22) their a force to be reckoned with when they team up. Just don't get them mad. The kid in front of Jesse just informed him that he "banged you madre last noche" Like I said don't get them mad. He got pancaked right after this. These two are always talking during the game you can usually tell the temperature of the game by how much these two are talking. Less talking easy game. More it's tougher or something is happening on the field.

It looks like he's getting beat here but he really has control. In case you couldn't tell that's Kyle #45. These guys were big but they tired easily. Supposedly Tri- county was undefeated prior to this game Kyle doesn't like any of these pictures but I think they show him pretty well.

Pacelli vs. Bonduel 24-0

The boys standing for the national anthem

3rd in looks like his about to go offsides
Helping go in for the kill

All about Kyle

Kyle had a fantastic game. They played until they were playing by moonlight. Then I went to the other game. Kyle is in Eau Claire today on a religious pilgrimage. He's not to happy about that. 21 parents wrote notes to let their kids off of the trip. We are a Catholic School come on! Kyle is getting so excited about tomorrow's hunting trip. Denise is letting them hunt out at her place. Bill's picking him up once he gets home and they are going to go get his license. We couldn't do it before this because we were busy with the other humans that live in our house.
Kyle has been asked to be in the Babe Ruth book of All stars. All the all stars in the league were asked but not all got letters asking for their stats. I need to get the batting stats from his coach. I thought it was a gimmick until we got talking to the high school coach and he said that it's really tough to get into this. So I guess we will have to do this for him.

I get tomorrow off!

I woke up this morning and hit the snooze. I just wanted to sleep. Then I remembered Yeah! I have tomorrow off. I had to jump up and down I was so excited. Bill needless to say wasn't so excited at 4:30 in the morning when he gets to sleep to at least 6. He's also less than thrilled that I am celebrating a day off. Oh well!
Boys all had practice tonight and I had grocery shopping to do. I have to help feed 43 boys afterschool and before a big game tomorrow night. This one is for all the marbles. So my Friends I ask you to be supportive. ( Ok I watched the debates and it rubbed off)
Kyle is in the process of pulling his bunk beds apart and making 2 seperate beds. My baby's growing up.
I also got Clay's pictures from school yesterday and was commenting how cute they were when Cole informs me his were in his backpack for about the last week. Kyle's of course and not here and he just told me he never turned in the check for them. He did this last year also.
Off to make 10 pans of brownies and cookie bars.

We're Having a really bad day

Poor Kyle gets in the car and starts off a blue streak about what a bad day he had. He gets yelled at no matter what. Then I start singing and dancing in the car and he starts laughing but then tells me this is just making his day worse. 5 minutes after we get home I hear him singing the song I was singing in the car. Couldn't have been to bad of a day.

I had to be 4 people today at work because we have 2 that are totally useless. Could anyone else do their job and not try passing the buck or admit that they screwed up and take responsibility. Thank goodness for my boss. She is so supportive and was angry right along with me. It's nice to have support.

Cole won last night but got cleated on the bad ankle. Stupid kid. Parents buy him a $300 brace for his knee and yet he doesn't wear it during the game. His coaches kicked him out at half time and sent him into the locker room to put it on. I could have strangled him.

Clay has practice tonight. In the rain should be fun. At least the temperature is decent. It's a good time to read.

Bill's ok not much to tell other than he will have an ulcer by Monday. Thursday night is the biggest game this year. If they win they win the CWC championship. Kyle's going hunting and he's nervous about this. I need to give him some valium at this point.

As Scarlett states "Tomorrow is another day"

You Love Cole More

I was informed yesterday that there are very few pictures on my blog of Mr. Kyle. Therefore on Thurs. I will be taking and downloading pictures of Mr. Kyle. He's all excited because this weekend is the youth deer hunt. For those 12-15 they get to hunt with an adult Sat. and Sun. Bill's really funny. He's so nervous for the boys. Cole is jealous because he's to old.

Nothing real exciting to report today. Just a JV game at 4:30 for Cole. It's Iola so it should be an easy game but you just never know.

I'm also thinking that for Entertainment night Jen, Deb and I should do an ABBA song. What do you think Jen? Any ideas for a date?

Action Shots from the Paper

Coles the one coming in on the left.
#79 on the right
It's already a boring game and almost 1/2 time. Dressed to weather the cold. That's Amy next to me and Sarah on the right.

Don't Mess With the Ref

What a night!

Yes if you looked the score of last nights game is correct. 69-14. There were 48 points in the first half. The mercy clock ran the second half and we were back in Stevens Point by 8:45. Cole played wonderful. 8 tackles and at least 2 sacks. He is really enjoying starting on defense. Next week (Thursday) will be the tough one. They need to win this game to win the conference. Bonduel got beat by Shiocton and we beat Shiocton.

Bill and Cole are off to Madison soon for the Badger game. Most of the Pacelli coaches are going so it should be a fun time. Cole's excited to see this game.

Kyle is going out trap shooting with a friend today. He's so ready to go hunting. Cole's headed out tomorrow. I have no idea what I'm going to do if he gets a duck.

Friday Night Fever

Well you ask, What am I doing tonight? Geeze it's Friday night and I know I have something going on. OH Right! Football! So surprising. Tonight's game is against Iola. Who by the way has kicked our butts the last 2 meetings. Let's hope things go our way tonight. Cole is in the starting line up again. This does make me nervous and nauseous. I hope he does well.

Kyle ditched me to go with his friend to the game. His friends older brother also plays. Clay went to the neighbors so I have a few minutes of peace and quiet until Bill gets home.

On the political side of things let me just say if Palin gave me one more wink I was going to reach through the T.V. and choke her. She had the stage presence over Biden however she kept to the talking points and steered away from answering any question she didn't understand or wasn't coached on. Just look at the "What do you feel the VP role is?" question. She botched that one up and "Say it ain't so Joe" nailed her on it. She came across as a power hungry bitch. I really am not impressed. I now have a OBAMA/BIDEN sign in my yard.

Phone Call from Teacher

Bill decides to call me at work from home at lunch. He has the answering machine going and tells me I need to listen to a message. The message begins; "Mr. and Mrs. Rogers this is Mrs. Patton Kyle's math teacher." OK let's just say this never goes well from this point. It usually is we have to talk or Kyle's really struggling and we need to see what we can do. My hearts just dropping. Then the message goes on to say;"I just wanted to let you know that Kyle got 100% on his math test and currently has the highest percentage in the class." Ok now comes shock, tears, joy, pride, etc. I get off the phone at work and everyone is looking at me concerned. After I explained everything to them they were laughing at me.

I get to my car after work and have 3 missed calls from Kyle. I finally connect with him and I hear him yell "I'm the smartest kid in my class!" Bill saw him at practice and said he was grinning from ear to ear. Pre-Algebra has been good for him. It gives me hives but he's doing well. Kyle's feet haven't touched the ground since.

A Dad's sad Day

Well Bill had to let go today. Cole no longer needs him. Let's just say Bill's not accepting this very well. Cole went duck hunting with his buddies today and no Dad. Bill was a nervous wreck until he talked to him afterwards. Cole shot but didn't get any. Hey a positive Cole was up before 11 am on a day off of school. He's really tired and has a 4 hour football practice today. Bet he goes to bed early tonight. I would love to pick on Bill for not being needed and give him back all the unsolicited advice he gave me but I'll Rise Above and not say anything. Hey we still have 2 more that will need us for a short time yet.

Football hero pint size

He's playing fullback here. Loved being able to carry the ball. I think he got about 4 yards on this run. He's getting better. Finally seems to be getting the hang of it.
Clay is the guy in the middle looking at you. He got part of the tackle.

In Honor of Halloween

OK let's face it we can never forget Little Jennifer repeating this and Dad trying to keep up with her:
Magalena Hagalena Ooka Taka Waka Taka Oka Moka Poka was her name.
She had two teath in the middle of her mouth. One pointed north and the other pointed south.
Magalena Hagalena Ooka Taka Waka Taka Oka Moka Poka was her name
She had two eyes in the middle of her head. One eye was green and the other eye was red.
Magalena Hagalena Ooka Taka Waka Taka Oka Moka Poka was her name.
She had ten hairs on the top of her head. Five were alive and five were dead.
Magalena Hagalena Ooka Taka Waka Taka Oka Moka Poka was her name.
She had a meck like a ten foot pole. In the middle of her neck was a great big mole.
Magalena Hagalena Ooka Taka Waka Taka Oka Moka Poka was her name.
She had three golden rings in each ear. The rings were so big she couldn't even hear.
Magalena Hagalena Ooka Taka Waka Taka Oka Moka Poka was her name.
A poor engineer ran over Magalena. The poor engineer had to by a new machina.
Magalena Hagalena Ooka Taka Waka Taka Oka Moka Poka was her name.
Now go teach your kids this so when we all go old and senile and start repeating this they won't lock us up in crazy bin.

Weekend Warriors

Cole's the center one. Nathan is on his right. This is right before they got the tackle together.

Bill took the boys out shooting yesterday. He wanted Cole to get used to his gun. Cole wants to go duck hunting on Wed. with his buddies. The boys don't have school Wed. Cole and Clay have a game tonight. Clay's playing on the big Goerke field. To bad it's going to be wet tonight. Cole's game ended in a 22-0 score. They didn't play Cole the second half because the score was getting to high. Clay had a great catch and ran for 10 yards. Their game ended in a tie. Clay seems to be getting better at knowing what he's suppose to do. Kyle has a game tomorrow.

Shiocton Here we go!

There's only one thing better than beating Schiocton at home is doing it on their homecoming. The score was 0-7. Cole in his defensive starting debut got the very first tackle of the game. I was just screaming. He then got the second. Both of these were unassisted. He then got the third with an assist from Nathan. that was fun to watch. Again more screaming. He played defensive all night. Pacelli was so good they only allowed 59 yards offense the entire night. For those of you not familiar with football that means the opposing team only moved the ball 59 yards forward the entire game. I guess there were 40 some negative yards in the second half. Our defense also scored the only touchdown. Yeah that means their defense was also good. Cole's right arm is black and blue spotted. Doesn't bother him. They are like badges of honor. Oh Brother!

Clay has a game this morning. I'm trying to wake him up. It's always hard after an away game.

How about them Brewers!!!!! Let's hope they can do it again tonight!

Friday, September 26, 2008

Shiocton here we come

O.K for those of you who are not huge football fans let me just say I am excited enough for everyone. !st we're playing the only other undefeated conference team. This could be the CWC championship tonight. Shiocton has 5 or 6 guys 265# or over. We have 5 guys over 200#. So the size is a little intimidating. Our defense is going back to a 5 man front. Cole by the way is starting tonight. O.k. Now I think I'm going to be a little sick. I love being a mom of boys but this stuff makes me nervous. Bill didn't sleep last night so that's a huge sign this game is big. He's also riding with me to the game. He had a job in Mauston so he won't be back in time to ride the bus.

Clay is excited because that means he gets to play Kyle's DS or Cole's PSP all night or watch movies in the van. He gets his friends to join him also. Fun times. Remember playing in the dark behind the ball diamond and everyone looking for you at the end of the night. Remember the grape soda and juicy fruit gum. Making the same type of memories for Clay.

Kyle's headed to a friends house tonight. A little sad about not going to the game but not enough to go with us.

Only one thing to say is GO PACELLI!

Tuesday Troubles

O.K. Let's first say that I love all my boys. Now let's just remind everyone that the youngest has issues which make things difficult at times. Today Clay had an appointment with the "talking dr." He usually comes out of this with a wonderful attitude and loves going. Bill took him today. I got home shortly after they did. I walked into the house with Clay crying and yelling at Bill and Bill standing firm. Bill was making him do his homework. I come in and try to settle things down and get the paper crumpled in a ball thrown at me and more tears and yelled at. Clay did not want to do his homework and I'm "just like my teacher! I don't need any help!" O.k. an hour and a half later we are now downstairs watching t.v. but not talking to anyone. Oh football practice should be fun tonight. Maybe he'll be more willing to do the homework afterwards.

Then we have the oldest. I thought he had a great game last night. He had some great blocks and allowed his team to score 2 out of the 3 TD's. We get home and I have to hear how he sucks and he'll never make varsity. Life is terrible. Not a good time to bring up school which last I heard was O.k.

Kyle on the other hand hates school and is a fairly happy camper but again won't accept any help with school to make things easier.

Life as a mom. It's a wonder I don't drink.

Scenes from Homecoming week

This is how you get to dress for homecoming without a date. Everyone else was dressed in shirts and ties and fancy dresses. The ding-dongs thought going swimming then grilling out and maybe getting dressed for the dance was the way to go. That's Cole's best friend Nathan to the left then Ian and Isaac. Can you tell which one's get the sun?
This is what happens when your Son-in-law coaches and your grandson plays. You show up and they hand you the game balls and put an ugly orange (sorry Caleb) vest on you and put you to work. No threats of getting tackled on the sidelines of this game.

Sign says "We love # 79" The clown was inducted into the Pacelli Athletic Hall of fame for special contributions. Don't ask what that is we were all wondering the same thing. The Senior parents made our hats. It has Coles number and name on the front and GO Cards on the back.

Power Puff on Monday after the JV game. The back of his shirt says "The Business" and the # is "1K" Don't ask.

Homecoming week

Well the game(s) were exciting. All the boys played well. All three won. It was fun to watch. Mom and Dad came down to watch. We put Dad to work at Kyle and Cole's games. I think he liked it because he was down by the action. He almost got tackled at Kyle's game. Kyle's game was fun because it was against Wis. Rapids West Jr. Let's just say it's not the same. I didn't know anyone from the other side.

Cole's got the homecoming dance tonight. He ditched his dress pants and they are going in jeans. The above picture is how they showed up to the park for pictures with their class. We found them swimming. They then went to Isaac's for dinner that they were grilling. We offered to send live chickens for them to use. Most of them are hunters so they thought that would be a cool idea. YIKES. The park was full of freshman, Seniors, and Juniors headed to homecoming. I'm so glad Cole didn't have a date. They were having so much fun and I think his friends with dates and that were dressed up were a little jealous. Two guys showed up dressed exactly alike and this was unplanned. Of course everyone pointed it out to them. I hope he has a good time. Homecoming looks a lot like prom now days. The guys still just go in dress pants and shirts with ties. Okay most of them.

Everyone just think of me tomorrow around 7:15pm. Just remember that my blood runs green and gold not blue and silver.

Practice only Thursday.

Well there are no games tonight just practice. Cole will be going out to eat with the team afterwards. Kyle's mad at me because I told him to shape up. What a mean mom I am. Clay has practice tonight. I will have time to just relax for awhile during this.

Powder puff was exciting. Cole's class won. I felt bad for him. They didn't let him be on the sidelines during the game. The Jr.'s sat at the end of the field and cheered them on. It was fun watching Bill ref. Tomorrow Kyle and Cole both have games. Homecoming is always so much fun. It will be even more fun tomorrow since I will have Dad, Bill and Cole on the sidelines. Big crowd is expected. Cole's ankle is doing fine. It's a little purple on the bottom but no longer hurts. Hoping he plays more tomorrow night. He's really been working hard.

Coach Cole

Today it the almighty Powder Puff game and Coach Cole's offensive coaching debut. It's funny to watch the girls listen to them. There are 4 boys and 2 teachers. I can't wait to see how this game goes. Bill got asked to ref this game. How much do you think I have to do to get kicked off the sidelines? Come on like none of you would do anything to harass him a little.

Kyle has off of practice because the team did so well. He had 1 unassisted and 2 assisted sacks yesterday. It looked like it was going to be a game until the second half. Half time score was 14-12. Well that was then the score ended to a 38-12 win for Kyle. He really did have a great game and the coaches were really impressed. I do think he's glad to have the day off. He's laying on my bed watching "Myth Busters". Hey for me it's better than shark week. YUCK!

Clay is at a friends house right now. He's been begging to go there all week but we've been so busy so tonight I let him go.

I also got the message that I needed to update this blog. First one sister talks to her nephew and finds things out and the other sends a message via co-worker. Nothing is safe and boy isn't it a small world.

By the way, Where are the soccer pictures? I heard Ms. Beth had a great game. What about Andy?

Hey Mom My ankle is killing me!

Well I really hate to say I told you so. Okay, no I don't however when you tell a kid who twisted his ankle pretty well in Friday's game, rested all weekend and then played a JV game on Mon, NOT to play in the volleyball game does he listen to you. When you get home and he's watching the Cowboy game and you tell him to take something for the swelling and pain plus put ice on it does this same kid listen to you or thank you when you go get the items for him? Oh not I get a phone call stating "Mom I don't know if I can practice today I got up this morning and my ankle is raping me!" Said mom tells him "Tape it up and go practice. The coaches aren't going to care that you played volleyball after they pulled you out in the fourth quarter so you could rest."

Then I have Kyle who can't wait to play today. Maybe it's also because mom brought him a JJ sub. I guess these are to die for.

Clay on the other hand is faining a headache so he doesn't have to go to practice. Before you say poor baby let me tell you that today's practice is with the USWP football team and a ton of fun. No real hard work in it today.

I think I'll go run away. But I need to be in Rosholt by 5 to watch Kyle. Maybe I just won't come home. Boys!!!

Cold,Damp, and Wet

Three straight days of wet football. I think I have earned another stripe on my mom badge. Cole played well and had a really good play on kick off. He hurdled a guy at mid field and got the tackle. He also twisted his ankle and it took him out of the game. He's doing better today just grumpy. Clay had a good game. Still not sure if this is what he likes. He does well but likes to argue. He always thinks he's right. Coach benched him once for it. Today is just a lazy, housecleaning day. It's nice not to have anything more planned.

It sounds like everyone in Bill's family has survived the hurricane well. Bill Sr. cousin lost part of the roof and is getting some flooding but no other reported damage. Everyone is safe and that's the main thing. Bill Sr. is still in Colorado so he's OK.

Football, rain and mud

Well what more could a mother ask for. Kyle played Marathon last night and he did wonderful. He got a sack and laid a couple of kids out. One kid told him to quit going after him. Keep in mind this kid was head and shoulders above Kyle. Like I tell them, hit 'em hard, hit' em low and make them remember you tomorrow. Some kids are awfully bruised up from this team. Cole and Bill have Amherst tonight. Clay has a 10:30 game tomorrow morning in the rain. I love washing muddy uniforms.

I hate getting the kids colds. This bugger is hanging on. It could leave any time.

I'm Falling for #12

I can't believe what a great game Rodgers had. (Can I tell you how hard it is to spell that with the "D") I was thrilled. I still love Brett however Aaron earned his way last night. Let's just hope he can stay healthy. I thought they all played well . It ended a perfect night of football! I can't believe the rest of you sorry fans didn't even comment on the game.

Cole's home sick today and I know he's not faking because he's not eating and let me tell you, for someone who could eat a cow this is unusual. Kyle is at Tomahawk for a game and Clay's got practice tonight. Tonight's a little R&R for mom.

More Football

Cole had a game at Wittenberg-Birnamwood. It's always so much fun to see him hit people. They just tend to fly. He thinks he had a terrible game. Bill and I thought he had a good game. Kicking game was not so good but its one game oh well. Now it's time to get homework done and kids in the shower.

Whew the weekend is done

What a busy busy weekend. It's almost 7:30 and I'm ready to crash. Bill and I worked the pancake breakfast (we cooked and Cole ran part of the Kitchen). Then after that was done at noon I went down and finished up the silent auction. By 4:00 I was beat. Clay got to ride the rides with his friends. He no longer wants mom and dad to come with him and he's riding the big kid rides. It's cute to watch. Kyle was with his friends but ready to leave the event with Cole around 5. At least that's over and now I get to sit back and watch football this week.

Cold, Crack, and Rain

Well Football season is in full swing here at the Rogers household. Cole did well at the DC Everest game and played on Special teams last night in the rain. He loves to hit. Clay is still learning the game and the competive side of the sport. Cole reffed his game. I was a little nervous on how this was going to go but it went well. Kyle stayed home last night to go to Panacea. We're going tonight. It's the begining of school and end of summer. Clay is playing at half time at the UWSP game. I think it's time for me to take a nap (Yeah like that's going to happen)

On a political note. The terrible media that's attacking Palin. Did anyone see this weeks People magazine. She is front cover and there's a big article in it on her and then one on the McCain/Palin ticket. Let's try and exploit our family a little more. I thought she did a nice job delivering a speech. I too rolled my eyes to the back of my brain a couple of times. To bad I missed George's and John's speech. I don't think I'll search the internet for them.
