Hi! Bye!

Well all the boys got home today about 2. With this came lots of stinky laundry and boys that looked like they didn't sleep for 4 days. From what I heard they all took naps during the breaks but I think the work outs really did them in. We wash Kyle's clothes, repacked him and sent him on his way again. He went to Lake Superior camping with friends until Wed.
Clay and I went to Wausau trying to shop for several birthday presents but ended up with nothing. Ugh! It's hard to figure out what to get people who have everything and don't give you any ideas (hint, hint)
Off to change laundry. I got to get rid of the smells.

Claycation Day 3

Well let's just say being an only child suits Clay very well. Today we got a science experiment kit from Micheals. He loved it. we made thing foam, change colors, and tonight glow in the dark. We also made bouncy balls. We went to the pool swimming. He went to Fazolli's for breadsticks and DQ for dessert. He's also earning $15 for taking care of the animals at the Razcek's since they are all gone. All the boys come home tomorrow so we are enjoying the peace tonight.

Claycation

Well Claycation officially started at 4:15 PM Monday. We went out to Iverson Park for some swimming and then to noodles for supper and then to the movie store to rent movies and games. It was a good thing because the rain started and we were stuck inside. The boys are at camp and Bill said they are all doing fine. The coaches moved Kyle to tight end because of his hands. He's having a little trouble with some of the running drills. I told them both to get running before camp. Haven't heard much about Cole. I'm sure he's all puffed up with Senioritis attitude.

Tonight's agenda is movie and Chinese food. We went to the city pool this afternoon. Tomorrow it looks like geocaching at Rib and shopping at the book store.

Class of '84

Bill had his class reunion last night and as predicted we were one of the last ones to go. He had a blast seeing everyone. They didn't have a great turn out but those of us there had fun. One of his classmates lives in China and flew in just in time to make the reunion. 3 guys are currently in Iraq. Several messy divorces. Dana Frost showed up as Fiance to Brian Wills. I couldn't stop laughing when I heard this. Bill told me I had to keep quiet about everything but come on how funny is it she keeps popping up. Overall it was a great time. Now it's time to get the boys ready for camp. Bill almost forgot about the sleeping bags. Good thing he's got me. He heard that a lot last night also.

Busy Saturday

Cole's race got rained out (again). They were on the last race before his and the sky opened up on the rain came. I was a little relieved because I knew the boys were planning on racing demo style and this just didn't sit well with me. I did have to say a little thank you prayer for the timing. Today he and his buds are celebrating the end of summer with a all day swim and grill out. Kyle and Clay have a fairly quiet night. Bill and I are going to his class reunion. No we still don't have anything for him to wear. He's doing an inspection in Wausau right now. I have to work tomorrow and then pack all three boys for the week up north. I better get going to get things done.

V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N!!!

It's such a lovely little word. I have off now until August. Ok I know it's only a week but saying it this way makes it sound so much better. With the unpredictable weather we are having we have to have a plan A and B. Clay's excited that the boys will be leaving soon. I think to much togetherness lately.
Clay loved football camp and the boys said he did well. I think they are amazed by him when they see him with others. Kyle is ornery because football camp is interfering with him going to Superior with his friend. Cole and I are battling the your still to young to...(Cliff dive at Red Granite for instance) The joys of having a kid who think he's ready to be gone. I just get to do all the wash and pack the boys up.
I was reminded about dressing the husband. Bill doesn't have anything to wear to the class reunion. It's a good thing I have tomorrow off to find him something.

Are we or Aren't we?

We've been going back and forth on a couple of things this week and if one happens then the other doesn't. We were waiting to hear if Kyle had a tournament this weekend. If he did then we weren't going to Bill's 25th class reunion (yes I did say 25). If he didn't play then we were going to go. We just found out that we will be attending the class reunion. Bill's class is really nice and we always have a good time when we go.
Clay had football camp today. He also has it tomorrow and Thursday. The older boys are counselors for it. Clay kept telling us he wasn't going but he did well and had a good time. They are all starving right now and we're waiting for Bill to get home. I give him 5 more minutes then I will have to feed the beasts.

Baseball Update

Kyle's team had a chance to play back to go to state however they came up short. Kyle personally had a fantastic game and had several and one Oh My God! catch. He batted the best we've seen all year. They lost by 3. This may or may not have been their last game. They have a tournament scheduled for next weekend but 4 kids are at camp or on vacation and 1 is hurt so that leaves us with 8.
Cole went to see the allstar football game in Oshkosh yesterday with a couple of other guys and then to a grad party. I saw him before we left and that was it.
Clay is so glad when he doesn't get drug to everything. He was pretty whinny about being at the game yesterday. We took him to see Harry Potter last night. I thought they did a nice job keeping to the book again. I just wished they explained the part about Snape still being a good guy better especially for those who did not read the book. Bill enjoyed it though.
Work this morning and then a little R&R this afternoon.

Who's that on the field and what did they do with my team

We were in Rhinelander yesterday for Districts. This is the tournament they need to win in to go to state. Let's just say I think they were all sleeping. The first game Kyle kid struck out twice! I have never seen him strike out twice in I don't know how long. He played center field like a pro. He had to. Our Substitute Right fielder has issues catching and so he had to be there for back up and our left fielder hurt his back and couldn't run and throw. The second game he had a great hit! Unfortunately the coach sent him to second and he got out. I was surprised but Kyle didn't get to upset. Clay got a new lego set and was playing with this all day and was happy. We're off to Rhinelander again today to see if they can win back going to state.

Still Stylin' after all these years

Happy 40th Birthday Debra Lynn!!!

Still lookin' good as you reach the top of the Hill.

It's all down from here!

Mid week

Tonight is the end of Kyle's league baseball. We have a bunch af kids missing so hopefully we can grab a couple from a team playing before us. He's glad to have this over with. The only problem with league ball is that you have 2 types of kids; those that want to play for fun and those that want to win. He's had practice for traveling team twice this week so far and will practice tomorrow for the district tourney on Friday. It's nice to see it won't be hot (65 degrees high) but I would not like to wear sweatshirts to a noon game.
Cole's got senior pictures tomorrow. This should be interesting. I'm going with per his request. It's a good thing I have the day off because work is really slow.
Clay's adjusting to having a clean room and dealing with Kyle again. He says he's glad to be home. We'll see when he finds out that he has to go with us to the ball game on Friday.

Crazy Couple of Days

Friday Cole's race got rained out. He gets to race for free next weekend. He's been out to Iola car show every day with one or another of his buds.
Kyle's been in and out with friends all weekend. He didn't go to the car show today and had the run of the house. I think he just needed some quiet time alone. That's how he gets his batteries recharged.
Clay is now at Denise's. Granddad is bringing him home about 2 tomorrow. If he doesn't show up I will go get the little one myself. I miss his hugs. I cleaned his room while he was gone and now he's thrilled because I told him his room would have to be clean before he could have friends stay over night.
Bill's been at Iola all week. He and his dad. I hope he comes home with less and not something new. He's good about swapping stuff when it comes to cars. On a sad note he has a funeral to go to tomorrow. One of his kickers drowned this week at a camp for UWSP. This really sucks.
I pulled my back while bending over and getting Clay's room cleaned. I just need to take it easy for a couple of days and I'll be fine.

Cars Cars Cars

Well the official start to the Iola car show was yesterday. I'm hoping Bill gets rid of a lot of junk. He's also selling t-shirts and hats for a friend. Cole and Kyle headed out there today to help. Cole's coming home early because he's racing tonight. He's in the drivers seat. I'll be there to watch.
On top of the show Bill's truck is having problems, my van is having some minor issues, Cole's car has a slow leak. The joy of the automobile.
This will be a nice slow weekend. No games or parties. I just have to work a couple hours in Wild Rose. Nothing major. I hope I get Clayton back. It doesn't sound like he even wants to come home especially after Grandpa introduced him to golf.

Coach Mom

Well let me just say WOW! First I was a little nervous about coaching Kyle's team. It was a good thing Amy was also coaching. The opposing team's coaches came up and asked if the coaches were coming. They had a total look of disbelief when they found out it was us. Then they started to flirt. Big mistake to underestimate us. The first game the kids were ahead up until the sixth inning and a 2 run homer came into play. The other coaches were smiling at Amy and she told them they better stop. They told her they were just smiling because they weren't sure what we would be doing next. The guys they can predict but not us. We had the kids running the bases pretty hard and had them shook. We lost the first game 6-11. The second game, against the same team, was an issue. Obviously they had us figured out. We also ended up having 2 kids injured and not able to play their normal spots. One had to sit out. We even ended up pitching Kyle. He pitched 4 innings and did wonderful. I think he only walked 2. The other team was terrible. They were up by 10 but held their guys so they could bring in their ace pitcher for the last 2 innings. This kid is by far one of the best pitchers in the area and we all know it. So just to be jerks they threw him. Needless to say we lost the second game. The kids did really well and played the best I've seen them play. The boys surprisingly were very ok with the moms coaching. Good thing because we will probably end up doing it tonight as well.

Water, Friends and Fun

Kyle has a couple of his buds over tonight to sleep out in the tent and watch movies and play games. He's excited and really hyper. We went to go get movies and had a very interesting discussion on religion. I find it funny as they grow and how their views of the world change. These boys had some very insightful and interesting things to say. It is fun as they get older and you're able to talk to them on a whole different level. Each of the boys are at a different stage so it's really fun to get the points of view from 9-1 7. Pray I get some sleep tonight with these kids.

Happy 4th of July 2009!

For Bill and I it's a quiet 4th. Cole and Kyle will be going to riverfront. Kyle slept over at a friends house last night and I didn't pack him the right shorts so I had to run those over. Cole is vegging out right now. It's Nathan's 18th Birthday today so I'm sure they'll have fun tonight. I love having a projector to watch movies on. Bill and I watched Valkyrie outdoors with the mosquito's last night. This is our plan tonight only different movie.

Clay I hope you have fun at the park and fireworks tonight. Behave.

Baseball and Hamburgers

OK it's really sad when I'm more excited about going to the ball park for the hamburgers than the game. Memorial Park has the best food. I got my delicious cheeseburger and fresh cut fries. Then I got to watch Kyle's team get creamed. The boys just didn't have their heads in the game. Kyle had an amazing catch at the Left field foul fence to get an out. It really was quite impressive. His coach from last year didn't believe it was Kyle who moved that fast. He also hustled and got to first base on a blooper hit. The first baseman tripped him as he went aver the base and now his butt hurts. 4 more games for the regular season. It's much more fun to watch the traveling team.
Cole's at a friends house tonight hanging out. They are all ready for riverfront fun this weekend.
Clay is headed up north. I got home and tripped over his bag. He was climbing the walls to get going. I don't know what I'll do without my goodnight hugs every night for the next week.
