I hate school

I heard "I hate school" all night last night. Kyle did not have a good day and had a horrible practice. This was not way to start off high school. I hope he did better today. Cole's pushing the edge of everything and has "but I'm a senior and I run the school" 'tude. I'm just waiting for the calls. Clay had a great day at school however took the skin off the top of his toes just before football practice and with his spikes rubbing against them there were tears. Tired and hurt make for an awful combo. Tonight he has a scrimmage so hopefully he'll be ready to go. We got him some gel pads for his toes. So really I'm right with the boys in saying I hate school. School=battles and I'm to tired for battles.

First,Last and Still

Kyle had his first day of high school today but I have to wait until I get home with Clay tonight to hear how it went. Bill said he was excited. Kyle was up before Bill went to wake him. The best part of this year for him is he gets to ride to school with Cole and not take the bus.

Today was Cole's last first day. I got more emotional today then I did when he went to Kindergarten. Poor Cole this is going to be a long year for him. College application request start next week. He's to focused on this weekends game to think about anything else. He's also rebelling against the dress code. I was waiting to hear from the school all day.

Clay had his first day of 4th grade and came home excited. He had a hard time getting to sleep last night. Some of his friends are in his class so he's thrilled. His BFF is not in his class. Hopefully things will go better, as they do each year, for him. The bully moved to Kentucky to this removes a great big problem.

I get to go for a long walk tonight while Clay is at practice. The boys have an early night since practice is now right after school. They will be home by 6. I won't be home until 8.

It the Official First school night

Let's just say not all of us are excited about school starting. For mom it's the start of battles. Clay went to meet with his teachers today. He got to pick a job. He was the first to pick so he was thrilled. He picked ticket master. This is the person who is in charge of handing out tickets when he sees someone doing something good. Cole deemed him the ticket Nazi. Yikes to have power in fourth grade. Kyle had freshman orientation today. Don't think he's as cool about going to high school as he puts on. Cole doesn't help much being he'll be a senior this year. I really need medication. I'm wanting to hug and hold onto him all the time now. By the time the years over I'll probably be so glad he's going to go on to do something different. Still waiting to get his pictures back. He's excited about being a senior. So it will be early to bed for all of us tonight. I didn't forget about Bill he just thinks we're all crazy. Here's to the 2009-10 school year. Say a prayer for me.

Weekend review

Cole raced his last race of the 2009 year. I survived, his dad lived vicariously through his son. They did well without much damage to the car. All three boys had a great time and it kept them out of trouble.
Baily turned 9 this weekend and had a party with his buds. Bill got the bright idea of a pyramid. Gotta love him and his great idea. At least we got him involved. Poor Kyle got suckered into it too.

The Begining

Kyle on Defense.
Kyle's first play of the game. It's hard to remeber he's now 83. Because he also got so skinny it's hard to sort through which one is him.

Cole's first defensive play. Right leg has shin splint and is taped.

His frist offensive play. Let's just say he's a lot easier to pick out. He was definately one of the biggest players on the field yesterday.

Scrimmage today at Marathon. Let me tell you it was tough trying to watch two kids on two different fields at the same time. Both did very well. Bill was with Kyle's team and was very pleased with how he played. He really wanted to see Cole but how often does a dad get to coach his own son. No one got hurt just really muddy. Both boys won all 3 matches. It was definately football weather with cold, wind and rain.

Brett Who?

It's a sad, sad, day! I can't believe he really did it. Is he just stupid?! Does he think we will still be loyal to him. A Viking. What a jerk! Thank goodness I've got better players to cheer on and they don't need a $10M contract!
Off to take Clay to practice! Other boys are already on the field. Bill's got the WIAA rules meeting tonight so he won't be home. I guess I see the boys in November.

You're Still the One!

20 years and you still make my heart skip a beat!
August 19, 1989

I believe these dresses made GMA worst bridesmaid dresses of all times.

Thank goodness styles change!
Thank you to all of you who supported us these last 20 years!

Football crazy

Well the boys put pads on yesterday and went to practice at Goerke Field. This is always a fun practice to watch and most of the parents come. The defensive linemen did a drill where they lie on their backs with their heads together and when they say go you are suppose to jump up and tackle the other guy. Both Cole and Kyle were in this group. I was wondering how long it would be before they put the two of them together. The last round they did it. It was fun to see. Kyle said he would have got Cole if he didn't slip. Officially the coaches called it a tie. I haven't got Cole's version yet. After practice he took off for the race. Last night they took 7th. Working all weekend. Conference on Monday which will be fun. Clay starts football on Monday so the testosterone in my house will rise one more level. Have a wonderful weekend.

We are Family!

The Howard Pelot Family: Deb (Tim was working) with Andy and Beth in front of her. Jenifer with Troy standing behind and Caleb in front of Grandma, Bill, Grandma (Mom or Peggy) Kyle (he is as tall as Bill), Howard (Grandpa or Dad), Clay in front of Howard, Terry and Cole (no it's not an illusion he really is that tall. I am standing right next to him.)

The third generation!

The second generation. Damn we are a good looking bunch.

Those that started it all Stanley, Howard, Shirley, Jim and Ken.

Are you ready for some Football

Well we definitely don't have brains in our family but it appears we have brawn. Cole and Kyle both did their testing yesterday for football. Both boys are the strongest in their class. (These results are posted for Jen) Cole: bench press 275#, dead lift 400#, squat 400# weight 245. Kyle: bench press 165#, dead lift 335#, squat 285# weight 165. Both just left for the first official practice. I just hope no one throws up. Some one always does. Cole's all stuffed up so tonight's conditioning should not be to much fun for him.

This weekend we had the Pelot family reunion. It was fun to see everyone who came. I just hope everyone gets home safe and sound without any problems. Clay had such a good time with his cousins and the boys had fun meeting the gang.

24 hour Kyle

You all heard of the 24 hour flu well we have the 24 hour Kyle. He came home from Superior on Tuesday. As he was coming home his phone kept ringing. Two kids called him to things. He left yesterday to go paintballing then slept overnight at another friends and left this morning to this friends cabin up north. I think he's trying to put a full summers fun in two weeks. He however is missing baseball and said it feels like it's been forever since he's played.
Cole had senior practice last night. He's really ready to get going. I ordered his pictures yesterday and he really didn't care which ones I got. The photographer reworked several packages for me and got me more pictures for about $75 less than what I originally was planning.
Amy and I wiped the football equipment so we won't have any more flu bugs when practice starts. She's going back and wiping the balls down today.
We found out Clay has 2 teachers this year. I was really afraid of this but when they explained that he would have each 2 1/2 days it sounded better. I think they are afraid he'll wear teachers out. He's getting excited about football finally.

First Monday back after Vacation

Is there anything worse than this. It took me almost the entire day just to figure things out. I did hear from Kyle at noon today. Both boys that were at camp got sick Friday night. I feel just horrible about him being sick and not home. He sounds like he's having a great time and is coming home tomorrow sometime. Can't wait I haven't seen him in almost 2 weeks.
Nice family reunion yesterday. It was nice to see some people I haven't seen in a while.
Busy week with meetings for school, equipment pick up for football and more parties this weekend.
