WOW

Wow is about all I can say about this weekend. I think I better bring rolaids with me to the games. The first game the boys took a while to fire up and ended up losing 7-12. We were the only team to come this close to Wausau. Sat we played Ashaubonon. This team got beat all three games. Kyle had a near (1error and 4/4 batting) game. Mom got upset with his hitting on Fri and made sure we had batting practice at home after. It worked and everyone noticed. The last game the boys had one inning that fell apart and they made stupid mistakes and lost 9-12. So today we are at home. We have Amy and Steve's Jesse. Cole took the boys to the ball park to have a home run derby. You would think they would have play enough. Kyle did have a 888 on base average and a 776 batting average this weekend.

Cole was with friends most of the weekend and Clay is covered in sand from playing with the kids at the ball park.

It's the Weekend!

Oh Happy Day! I love Fridays the only thing better than Friday's are Fridays that are paydays or vacation days.
I don't have to tell you what the plans are this weekend. Stevens Point Baseball Tournament! We have a 6'clock game today and a 9am and 5pm tonight. Let's hope the rain holds out.

Cole had an interesting morning. He was working out and 3 of the Seniors were in the wieght room today. They were talking to each other and Cole and Nathan were working out. One of the seniors came over and said, "So what position is Daddy getting you this year?" Cole was so mad he finished his work out and then came home got on his bike and bike 15 miles on the lowest speed and then did wind sprints in the yard. That will teach them.

Have a nice weekend!

Oh My!

Well can we just say we are officially the Bad News Bears? We have 3 guys out injured and one on vacation. We had to borrow 1 player and we lost again by 1. Kyle has got this screwy stance where he's way back on his right foot when batting but what do I know.

Nice night tonight. I have laundry, books to read and Clay to play with. Bill's working on his car. Cole's with Nathan, Kyle's with Isaac. Oh thank goodness for quiet just in time for a busy weekend if it doesn't rain.

Our first forfeit of the year

Kyle's game was very interesting. We started borrowing several players from the other team because 4 of the 12 were gone. Kyle started pitching. Let me just say "Wild thing" from Major League. He hit the first 2 batters then only walked 2 and struck out 3 in 5 innings. Not bad for a year of not pitching. He was 3/4 tonight. The score was 12-13.

Clay loves going to ball games because the kids Kyle plays with all have brothers his age. I remember how much fun it was to play with the other kids too.

Cole let's just say we are having a difficult time. He has a friend that is a nice kid but I don't like the way Cole is after he's been around him. Kind of a C.I. situation. He's loyal but knows that we are right.

Another game tomorrow night! Let's hope this one is better

Oshkosh Update

Well it's Sunday and we are home enjoying the rain. Kyle played 3 games yesterday. It was a long day. Clay slept through the entire game at 8am. Here's the recap of the days events.
Game 1 vs. Plover-
Kyle played 1st base and did very well. The team held the score to 1-1 through inning 6. Inning six both teams started to get their bats going however for us not well enough. Kyle was 2:2 (walked 1). He couldn't, most of his team, get the ball out of the infield. We lost 3-7.
Game 2 vs. Waukasua
We did very well here the Pulaski team beat them in 5 with a 15 run lead. Pulaski is the team to beat. Kyle played 1st got a double play and was 3:3. No strike outs but nice base hits.
Game 3 vs. Pulaski
Kyle played first and this team rocked. We had a bad 2nd inning and Pulaski got 9 runs. We rallied back and increased the score to 7-9. Pulaski then got 3 more runs we got up to bat and got bases loaded 2x's. Then the Pulaski catcher tried to throw out our guy on 1st. Well lets just say this is when things got interesting. Our runner from third scored and our guy on second sat there stunned for a while but he eventually scored and the guy on first this whole time is in a pickle. We all thought he was safe but I guess the ump thought otherwise. The 2nd run should have counted and kicked Pulaski out of the tourney but the ump screwed up and said it didn't. Oh well.

Clay had a great time playing with all the kids and the rest of us got a little burned. Next weekend Point tourney. Cole is at Nathan's all weekend and we haven't seen him yet. I know he's out canoeing. Have a great week

Great night for a ball game

Kyle had a late game last night. We were at the park until 10:30 pm. Thank Goodness we won! The kids team has had all these close games and then lost last night they won by 3. Kyle was 3/4. He had a great hit out in center field. He played 1st and 3rd and was a Hoover vacuum with the balls. He was also playing against 1/2 the kids from the traveling team (we have about 1/2 on our team). Kyle threw up while warming up in the 5th inning at first and almost got beaned in the head by the ball. Don't worry it was phlegm from his cold and he insisted on playing the rest of the game. What dedication.

Kyle and Clay are at the movie with Kyle's friends and Cole's at the beach with his buddies. Must be nice to be young and carefree again.

Guess what we're doing this weekend? You guessed it we're playing ball. We have to be in Oshkosh by 7am (teams meeting to caravan @5:30) to go play Plover. Talk about stupid. Wish us luck.

One down two more to go

Well we're 1/2 of the way through baseball season. Clayton had his last game last night and did very well. It's fun to see how far they come in a season plus we got no phone calls or complaints about his behavior. His coach thought he was funny because he said Clay knows the game better than any other kid out there (hence the arguments). Geez Mom coached most of his life, he's been dragged to all of Kyle's games I wonder why he knows the rules so well. Clay wanted to ride his bike to his last game (4 Miles). So Bill and I biked along with him. He had to stop once to rest and by the time we got to the park he was so tired and cheeks were so pink. I had to go back and get the car to get Kyle and Clay and Bill were 1/2 way home when we caught up with them . Clay didn't pause to think when I asked him if he wanted to ride the rest of the way home in the car. So that's what it takes to wear him out.

Kyle came home yesterday from his friends house not feeling well. I'm sure it's his allergies.

Don't ask about Cole. He didn't need money for food or gas so I haven't seen him. Good thing he's got a cell phone. I can't believe I've been reduced to having a relationship with my kid via phone. I guess I should be glad he's got friends and is busy.

Bill informed me today that we are 5 weeks from the start of football season. Can't I just get through one season first.

Humph Day

I know it's "hump" day but I feel like Humf! Everything is icky! I don't know the last time I've been in this foul of a mood. Work, family, extended family ICK! O.K. enough feeling sorry for myself.

Kyle is officially out of the hitting slump. He went 3:3 last night and got on base 2x's. He played great. The game was tied at 3 until the last inning. They were at the top of their order and we were at the bottom of ours. We ended up loosing by 2. His team record does not reflect the playing. This team stays with everyone up until the last inning. He's up north with his friend again. They promised to have him home tonight. We'll see.

Cole still has his cold and it's not adding to his personality. He got hired by my department to help transport patients on the weekend and when one of our aides are out.

Clay's last game is tonight! He did really well this year. I'm going to be a little sad to see it end. He wants to ride our bikes to the last game. I think we're going out for ice cream after.

I'm NOT out!

How do you stop an 8 year old from arguing with his coach when both the coach and parents know the kids in the right? Clay got hit by a pitch again and took it like a champ no arguing there. The ump (aka dad from other team) called him out at first when the 1st baseman "tagged" him after he ran past first base. Before you ask no he did not turn in, infact turned to the outside. He hit well and played first base well.

Kyle's on deck tonight. We'll see if he's out of his hitting slump.

Cole's on the mend the inhalers work great and he's able to breathe.

Take me out to the ball game.

What happened to the weekend?

Four days off of work isn't enough. We went Geocaching in Marshfield on Thurs. (didn't find it) and on Fri. Friday we were more successful and then we celebrated with pizza from Polito's. Let's just say yum.

Sunday for Father's day we went to the Dells. Let's just say the recession is obvious in tourist town. Bill would much rather have done what we did for mother's day (Brewer's game) but we had fun and everyone got fried like an egg.

Poor Cole (everyone say poor baby) has bilateral ear infections and bronchitis. At least one member of the family can feel for him now. He's had a terrible cold for several weeks but refused to take anything for it and now can't sleep and wheezes. Everyone else is wonderful. Clay's game is tonight. Wed. will be his last game for the year.

One more week until we get our present from Bush via China. Let's hope the print doesn't contain abnormal amounts of lead.

Happy Birthday (one day late) Bill!!!

Well I would have written this yesterday however we were in Marshfield for the day. Clinic was busy, Dr. running a 1/2 hour late and then we went to try geo-caching in the rain in the zoo. Didn't find it will have to try another drier day. On the way home Amy and Steve decided that we should go celebrate Bill's b-day at the casino. I lost he came home with enough for us to be even. Had a good time. This weekend is free and we have Dells books so we thought Sunday we would go and do a few things that are open there. Happy Father's day to all the Dad's. Good luck in Canada and dress warm.

Mom I would make sure one of your bags isn't about 150# heavier. I know someone who said he might try in sneak away with you. :)

Where's everyone?!

Well at my house we've been playing "Where's _____?" or "Do we know what time_____ is getting home?" I like the cell phone. I can at least get ahold of the oldest (when he doesn't hit the Mom button). Kyle's friends dad called and asked if he could miss the game tonight and stay longer at the cabin. This is from the same man who said he'd would work around Kyle's schedule.Thank goodness Clay is little and can't go very far without us.

One more day of working a 12 hour day then vacation!

Thank goodness for rain!

Well our weekend with the rain was about the same as some and not as bad as others. Kyle's tournament was cancelled Sat. after and 1 1/2 hour lightning delays. They got crushed the first two games and then finally got in the groove and the lightning struck (13-0). The coaches let him play an inning a game because they want him to heal and be ready for the Oshkosh tourney. Plover cancelled all the Sunday games. Kyle then went to his friends house to spend the night and leave for up north in the morning. I won't see him until Tues night. He's got friends calling for him all the time.

Cole has been going to Graduation party after party. It's good to be liked. He also went to a going away party for an exchange student from the Czech-Republic. Shimone invited him over so now that's the latest thing. He's not happy with us right now because he has to watch Clay. Not like his mom. He's not willing to take him with him any place. Not cool.

Clay is just enjoying going to the park and playing with all the other kids who have to be there. Thanks Aunt Jen for the Rip Stick the other kids think I'm really cool because of it.

Mom and Dad were glad to be able to have a day at home to get things done. Amy came and got me to go to the church picnic. Like usual we didn't win anything. I'm working 2 places this week until Wed. then we are off for the weekend.

Here's to staying dry!

School's out for summer YEAH!

Well it's officially summer in my house. Not only did everyone have great day they all left me for friends. It's a quiet place here.

It's nice to have a biology teacher that likes you and wants you to pass the class. Let's just say after school some boys got a little extra help on their final.

Kyle is at a pool party. When I left there were 34 kids there and about 10 more coming down the street. He's leaving me on Sunday night after his last game and going up north with his friend Isaac. It's the weekend so Cole will be gone most of it. Clay is getting stuck going to Kyle's games this weekend plus our church picnic.

Have a wonderful start to your summers.

What a pain in the knee

Well let's just say that a week is not enough to be off the knee. I got to the game at the 5th inning to find Kyle in tears and on the bench. Ortho said we need to get him a brace. He'll have to miss this weekend tourney playing but I would rather have him cheer his team on then be in surgery.

Let me tell you I no longer believe in Darwin. If the survival of the fittest were true my sons would have good knees, no seizures or blood disorders. Thank goodness they got my teeth and Bill's eyes.

Well one more day of school! One more night of studying for finals! One more day before the fights begin! As for feeling old let just say we start tomorrow with a 2nd, 7th and Sophomore and come home (hopefully) with a 3rd, 8th and Junior. That last one should make you feel old.

Another day in the dugout

Both Clay and Kyle have games tonight. One begins as one ends. It's so cold I feel like I'm watching the wrong sport. Does this mean football will be in 80 degree weather? What happened to global warming? I have a feeling the one game will get rained out. We are also playing "Where's Cole?" He only has 1/2 day of school due to finals. Not good when you feel like crud. I mow know my US history again from the Civil War to WWI.

You know it's ok to fight the good fight but it really takes someone smart to know when to bow out gracefully.

Whew!

Well when the planets line up life is good. After and awful start to the day yesterday we went out and had a great night. Kyle's game got rained out. This is good because he didn't have to watch his team play without him. Mom made a nice hot bath and a shake for him because he was cold. Clay did an awesome job at his game. His team can really hit. We need to work on the fielding though. Cole is a subject we don't talk about because finals are starting tomorrow and that is not good. I feel like I'm back in high school. I am reminded on a daily basis how old I actually am. At what age does the kid have to be to find out parents are not so stupid?

Mean, Evil, Terrible Mom

Oh! it is definitely Monday! Let me tell you ADD/ADHD should come with a handbook and a quick chart on how to fend off fits. Mom's 1st screw up of the day was that she thought that the field trip was today. I had a great lunch and all eco-friendly containers (more eco-friendly more points) however the trips tomorrow. Let's just say Bill made a trip to go visit our little one at school as he sat in the principle's office for 2 hours doing his work. 2nd screw up I'm not letting Kyle play ball tonight but making him go to the game. In his words "You just want to torture me. I thought you loved me." 3rd and let's hope final screw up of the day is I made Cole go (O.K. forced) to the football meeting. He's not feeling good, getting pressured for finals this week and getting crap from kids about the only reason he plays is because he's a coaches kid. Yeah like that's going to get him extra playing time. Let's hope I don't screw up anymore.

Kyle went fishing and caught a ton on Saturday. Cole made money by helping his friends parents move. Clay was happy just to have Mom and Dad to himself. Plus we all went to see Indiana Jones. Clay thought it was scary but cool.
