Christmas 2011

All the work that goes into getting perfect gift. It's amazing that's it's all over in a blink of an eye. I think the boys all had a good Christmas. It's tough the older they get because there is a lot less under the tree. There were a few surprises that weren't expected. Bill finally got his ipod and is thrilled. The boys got me a massage and Cole and Kyle got Clay a new skateboard. We then said goodbye to Kyle as he went to Hannah's family and the rest of us went to a movie. Bill and Clay went to Chipwrecked and Cole and I went to Sherlock Holmes. It was wonderful. Now off to make Lasagna and have Christmas dinner. Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas as well.

Crazy Weekend and Start of the week

Cole was home this weekend seeing a friend who is shipping out to Afganistan soon. He was home fairly upset about this. He's back to school for finals this week. 1 semester down 3 to go. I know it was tough for him to suck it up and go back but I'm pretty proud of him for doing it.

Kyle was at a dance competition this weekend with Hannah. Then off to a hockey game. He started to build a hockey rink and it was coming along nicely until the weather warmed up and melted it all.

Clay was at a movie with his friend. Its so funny that he is getting so big. He and his buddy got dropped off at the theater and then picked up after. I forget that he is in 6th grade. He also got his cell phone so he is constinantly texting us from wherever he is in the house.

Bill is busy fixing brakes. First he got Cole's done 2 weeks ago. My back brakes wore out along with a flat tire this week. Kyle's rear brakes went out on Saturday. When it rains it pours.

I'm busy getting Christmas cards ready to go out, tree up, gifts bought. I'm adjusting to my job just fine. New reports to do keep creeping up and now my OTR quit today. Finding a new one should be fun.

Here's to the rest of the week.

All I want for Christmas!

In this age when Christmas has gotten so comercialized I look at these teenage/tweener faces and realize that all I want for Christmas is these 3 under one roof w/ no fights. Yeah like that's going to happen. But a girl can dream. Hope all your wishes come true this holiday season.

First Week of the new job

I had a pretty good first week of work. My head is swimming from all the information. I got a couple of things dropped in my lap. I was suppose to give a reprimand to the rehab tech and deal with an attitude problem of one of my PT's. REALLY?! Needless to say this didn't happen. The staff had a welcome and birthday soup potluck on Tues. The staff ha been very nice and helpful. I haven't had any difficulities. It could be that they are all on their best behavior right now but so far I'm enjoying it.

Unemployed for 24 hours

Woke up this morning and my darling husband asked me how it feels to be unemployed. I kinda liked this thought. I played onthe computer, went to lunch, and then to a movie with some friends. I like the no stress day. Starting tomorrow increased stress level.

Endings and Beginings

Today was my last day at a job I loved for 16 years. It was hard to say goodbye to the people and the building. Driving home I had the voice of self doubt in my head. I know I need to make this next step however there is a comfort about the familiarity. Here's a toaste to the past and onto the future.

New Beginings

I went to work on Saturday and found my new desk all set up with a big "Welcome Terry" sign. This made it all so real. I can't believe in 2 weeks I will be in charge of this big, wonderful crew. I'm starting top get nervous and I have some self doubt. My current boss pulled me aside this morning and told me what a wonderful boss I will be. I hope I can just remember to keep everything in perspective and remember that there is always 2 sides. Here's to my last to weeks of just being a pe-on.

Undefeated season

Clay had his last game today. It was cold and windy and there wasn't one complaint. The boys played well all sseason but had the goal to be undefeated. What a game it was They stated out behind but made uup for it. Clay got a 4th and 1 interception. He was walking on air. Coaches were really good and are throwing them a pool party on Tuesday.

Kyle's game not so good. they got beat but it looked like they were having fun. He played both sides of the field and kicked. He did well. He kicked into the wind much of the time and still did well. He is playing on JV on Monday and that will be the end of the season. I'm ready for some down time.

I did accept the job in Arpin and it feels right. I should be starting just before Thanksgiving. Bill is ready for some down time as well.

Desicions

I got a fantastic job offer today. I am not in a good place with my current job. Problem is I need to make the right decision without anger or resentment. I hate things like this. Wish me luck!!!!

Reversals

Friday night the boys played hard but came out on the loosing side of things. Kyle had a couple snaps go over his head and he did get one of and got smucked good on one of them. He now knows why he has that pigeon chest. Last night we had a reversal in the score and he had a good game. He got to play a ton of offense. He got 2 tds. Hard to believe we won't be going to the playoffs this year. 2 more games for him and 2 more for Clay too. I think Clay has had a fun season as well. He has practice tonight. Enjoy the beautiful day.

Happy thoughts

Life has been more valleys than mountains so far this year and I don't think we are quite done with the lows yet. So I need to start focusing on the positives. Here are just a few things:
-Cole coming home for the weekend
-Cole getting asked to work out for the SWAT team and being excited about it.
-Clay crawling into bed with me and making a nest to keep us warm
-Clay getting to run the football 2x on Monday and getting 20 yards
-Clay playing football and having fun
-Kyle playing baseball and having a great time
-Kyle being excited about homecoming and decorating the school with his friends
-Bill being proud of me and telling me how much he love me
-Having people in my life that I know love and care about me unconditionally.

Saturday rambling.

Bill made it to Houston just fine. He said it was a bumpy ride. Poor Afton was scared on her first flight. Bill's grandma cried when she realized it was him. She thought it was his dad when he walked in. Kyle is camping and sound like he's having a good time. Cole is in Platteville and just chilling this weekend. He's going to Lacrosse next weekend. Clay had a game this morning and did well. He's much more passive of a player than the other 2. He's enjoing it. They won. It was a fun game. Nice and quiet night with Clay.

A Game We would like to forget

Wow! We played Schiocton tonight and it was not pretty. The final score was 0-44. Shiocton just outplayed us. The refs were terrible. Kyle got thrown and it should have been a personal foul against them. The coaches were fustrated and upset and so were the kids. What are you going to do? Bill's headed to Houston tomorrow, Clay has a game and Kyle's going camping.

Kyle's game

Kyle played one heck of a game. He got the extra point kick with a ton of room. A couple nice punts! A field goal to bring the score to 10-0. He also got in on a sack had a couple big tackles and help\d the line nicely. One of the better games I've seen him play. Unfortunately Amy's Jesse broke his collar bone adn dislocated his shoulder. This means his out for the season. Poor kid :(

Happy labor day!

While some of you are vacationing or enjoying the day off, I will be laboring. In this day and age I'm just grateful to have a job. It's suppose to be a beautiful fall day (mid 60's) so go out and enjoy!

Saturday, September 3, 2011

Oh what a night!

Last nights game could have gone better for the team. It was the first time in ten years they lost to Amherst. Our boys had some errors (9 fumbles with 4 losses, missed tackled etc.) It was a tough game to watch. One of our seniors went out with a "popped" knee. If it's what they think he will be out for baseball also and to make things worse it was also his birthday. Kyle did have a good game and it's fun to watch him. He got double and triple teamed all night. He and one of the Amherst kids were talking(friendly) all night after they tackled each other. It was cute to watch.
Now it's off to a nice long weekend. Bill and Clay are going to Illinois for a car show later today. Kyle is going to the Rosholt fair. I'm going to enjoy some alone time, and Cole is having a great time seeing everyone come back. So far he's enjoying school again this year. Both the other boys like their new year so far. It's only been day 2 so we will see. Have a great labor day weekend!

Last day of Summer

Oh Boy how did we get here so fast? The school supplies are bought and packed, schedules printed, and kids already whinning about going to school. I think the summers are going by faster every year. Cole is happy at the tech. He found the girls so I guess this will make a difference. Kyle and Clay are well on their way in the football season. Kyle is already going to be on game 3 and the 1st conference game. Clay has 2 scrimmages the next couple of days and his first game next Saturday. Bill and I are just trying to keep up with them all.

Rollercoasters

Life is definitely a roller coaster around my house lately. We have the loopy loops of emotions, the rise of hope of new starts, the moment at the top where your heart stops and stomach of butterflies of anticipation then the sudden drop into the unknown, the racing thrill of the speed at which things happen and change, and in a blink everything is calm. It's been a crazy life lately and I'm ready to change rides to the lazy river. Anyone want to join me?

UGH!

Is there anything this year that will go right? Cole left for school last night and I figured we would get a call about 10 to let us know he got there safe. OH DID WE GET THE CALL! He got there and couldn't get into the apartment. the deadbolt was locked and the landlord didn't give him a key. 1/2 an hour later we finally got the landlord. Who by our luck doesn't have a key either. REALLY?! So what to do with the kid? Thankfully he has friends who were coming to Platteville so he ended up staying with him. Now you would think this can't get worse just wait. At about 1AM the kids woke up to a bat and ended up killing it. Now to bed. Cole then wakes up gets ready to go to his 8:30 class only to find out it was a 7:30 class. He can't find anyplace to park at school, it's pouring rain and it takes 2 hours to get his books and no one knows what form he has to have to take to the clinic for his physical. Thank goodness he has 2 days off. I think I just may need to take up drinking to stay sane.

Congrats Kyle!

Kyle recieved the "Coaches Award" last night at the 6ers banquet. He was pretty excited about it. It was a great season! Now onto fall ball!

Same Dream Different Path

Sometimes things don't work out for us and we need to take a different approach. Lots of this is happening in my household right now. Cole is signed up and ready to go to Southwest Tech in Fennimore. He's actually very excited about this. We move him into his apartment on Saturday and he starts class on Tuesday. I just hope he likes it and does well. It was nice to spend time with him without having to discuss the past mistakes and start to look forward to the future. So proud that he is not giving up on his dream.

Kyle is trying to find some balance with his passion for sports and being a well respected player. Team is really important to him but sometimes he looses sight of that and focuses on trying unrealistically to be perfect.

Clay is having a fantastic time at football and is thrilled to have 2 of his best friends on his team. It's so much fun to watch him because he really does have some natural talent and if Kyle's not careful Clay may be the better athlete of the two.

Bill is trying to find time to do everything but because there is so much he's not making to much progress.

I have to decide whether to stay at my current job or move on. Tough decisions.
Just looking forward to Friday's game. Hopefully we are off to a terrific season.

Weddings, Pools, and hotel mishaps

We went to LaCrosse for the weekend for my cousin Jesse's wedding. The service was nice. The groom looked like he was about to explode he was so excited and happy. It was a very nice time. It was nice to see cousins I haven't seen and awhile but there's never enough time to talk to everyone.
Kyle was in charge and Clay and Caleb. They swam, went for ice cream and swam some more. I think they are all water logged. Just when Kyle thinks he's done in the pool we bring another little sweety for him to swim with. He had no problem and is still laughing about all the silly little things that were said or happened.
Our hotel rooms air conditioner broke and the night time crew were not very helpful with trying to make us all comfortable. Bill (bless his soul) was so worried about us the he sat up in a chair all night  with the door open so we could get some sort of cool air. The day crew made sure we got a full refund. It was worth the trip!

Football Season Starts

Kyle and Bill are up at camp this week. We just get done with one sport and we are already on to the next. WOW!
Cole is working hard on his classes and at work. He is enjoying making his own money and I'm enjoying him not having to use mine. ;)
Clay is having fun this week just being able to sleep in and then go to the pool. He always seem to meet one of his friends there. He's having a sleep over tonight which he is so excited about.
I am just having a great time not being at work. The weather is wonderful and so far Clay has kept me busy and I'm able to catch up on things that I have let go during the many afternoons at the ball park. I would like one rainy day to keep me inside.
See you all at the wedding this weekend!

4!5! SIXERS!!

The dust has settled, the last ball is caught, the last out made, the last run made to the last game of a fantastic season. The boys had a fantastic season and ended up 2nd in the regional tournament. It was a fantastic run! We really need to thank all the coaches. They did a fantastic job keeping the boys playing together as a team. I can't imagine another team that played on and off the field so well. Congratulations on a great season.

Baseball, Apple Pie and Ice Cream

What a 4th of July weekend. It was a beautiful weekend. We spent most of it in Appleton at the ball park. Kyle played 4 games this weekend. It was fun Sunday night watching the game as fireworks were going off all around us. Bill stayed home with Clay so he could go to the fireworks and he had enough of the games for the week. The boys played ball well and really played hard. Now it's back to work and no more fun.

Bill and Clay are getting ready to go to Iola car show this weekend. Kyle has more ballgames and Cole is doing whatever it is that Cole does. Busy week ahead.

Quick update

We've been living at the ballpark. Kyle has played 7 games so far this week. Yesterdays double header, thankfully, turned into a single game. In 100 degree heat the boys were dropping quickly. We have 4 games this weekend in Appleton. No fireworks for this family.

Rocky passed away yesterday. We knew it was coming but to see the family in tears was so sad. Clay is really having a hard time with this. It's his first real loss and thats always the worst.

Cole is still enjoying his job and starts his classes this upcoming week. With Riverfront he will be able to get the three concerts in he needs.

Bill's getting ready for Iola along with Clay. They both love this week. We'll see if Clay stays the whole time again.

Have a safe and happy 4th of July!

Busy Week

Wow who would have thought there was such a thing as to busy. Kyle played 9 games this week. Today go rained out. I went to Madison yesterday to watch Pacelli girls take on Poynette. Tough game and we ended up loosing. #2 out of 104 isn't so bad. Girls had a great season. Cole, Clay, Bill and Bill Sr. went to the cities for Back to the 50's car show and got back late. Nice way to celebrate Father's day early. This week Cole is headed to Oshkosh for the country USA fest. Kyle only has 2 games this week and nothing this upcoming weekend.
Happy Fathers day to all those dads!

End of the week!

Kyle had his first sixers game. He didn't start so that didn't go over well. He ended up playing in the 2nd inning. He caught 2 innings however they only played 4 and a half. They won 15 to 1. He walked his only at bat but ran home. Cole finished his first week of work and is still going back. Yeah!!! Clay is having a great week of vacation.

Fun Day

We woke up this morning and walked outside to see Kyle's truck covered in maxi pads with wings. Some one's mother isn't going to be happy to see her supplies raided. The truck was parked up by the house. Kyle walked outside and knew immediately who did it. We'll see if he is right. We have several grad parties today and then a football meeting.

Friday, June 3, 2011

MVP

Pacelli had their all sports banquet last night. Kyle got the MVP award for JV! It was really nice to see him excited about it. He's had a good season and really has enjoyed playing with this group. Now he's just excited about legion ball starting soon. His girlfriend Hannah earned the MVP for JV softball. Both are going to the Brewer game today. Nice way to celebrate.

Passion

(sorry this picture was suppose to be posted on your birthday)

Over the last month or so I've been trying to find my passion. I have a ton of interests but nothing, besides my family, that I can say I am passionate about. I feel like I've been stagnate and going through life without anything to get me really fired up and excited about. Nothing that has challenged me personally (this is non work related. That's a different story). I don't even like watching the news or reading the paper, it's all so depressing. So my goal is to try something new and see if I can't find that personal passion again to see if I can get that fire in my belly about something.

Mother's Day

Happy Mothers Day!

Whosever room this is should be ashamed!
His underwear is hanging on the lamp.
His raincoat is there in the overstuffed chair,
And the chair is becoming quite mucky and damp.
His workbook is wedged in the window,
His sweater's been thrown on the floor.
His scarf and one ski are beneath the TV,
And his pants have been carelessly hung on the door.
His books are all jammed in the closet,
His vest has been left in the hall.
A lizard named Ed is asleep in his bed,
And his smelly old sock has been stuck to the wall.
Whosever room this is should be ashamed!
Cole or Clay or Kyle or--Huh?
You say it's mine?
Oh, dear,I knew it looked familiar!

April Updates

Cole's still (thankfully) at Platteville and busy looking for a summer job. He found a place to live for next year. It's a side by side duplex. He's talking about playing rugby next year. We'll see when it gets to that time.

Kyle's playing ball and hanging with his buds. He and his girlfriend Hannah went to Appleton shopping with us. Kyle finally has clothes that fit him. Baseball has had it's up and downs with the politics and the weather. He's enjoying himself though. Waiting for legion ball sign ups.

Clay has been really busy. His team took 3rd (out of 14) at the state destination imagination competition last weekend. I'm so proud of the kids. This is where Clay can really use his brain for good. It's amazing to watch him solve problems and come up with ideas on the fly.

Bill's still not sure what's happening with his job. With the budget cuts and realignment of the housing authority nothing feels stable at this point.

I'm still working what seems like all the time. It should be nice to have a couple of days off this week.

Spring Break

Well we got one kid back to school after his spring break at home. Didn't see much of Cole. Most of his friends were home this week and another group is home this up coming week. They all spent the weekend together. He had a great birthday.
Clay and Kyle have spring break this week. Kyle starts baseball this week. He's hoping to get some varsity time this year. Coach likes his pitching and hitting so we'll see. First varsity game is April 4th. I can feel the sunshine already.
Rainy rainy day today. I'm feeling kinda of sluggish because of it but it also means most of the snow is gone. Beautiful moon last night. What little through the clouds we could see.
Slow week this week. Thank goodness.

11 on the 11th!

Happy Birthday Clayton James! He's getting out of school to go out to lunch with mom. He wants to go to Noodles and Company. Go figure. He's so excited about all the presents he's gotten and hasn't had time to stop playing with them to thank everyone. Tomorrow he is going to Shawno for the DI competition. He's so ready for this even though he knows he's already going to state (they are the only team competing in this challenge at this regional) Yesterday he stayed home from school not feeling well but today seems to be ok. I can't believe my baby is 11 already! Where does the time go?

Quick Updates

Things have been so busy and are going to continue to busy the next couple of weeks.
Bill- Thank goodness still has a job for now. We'll see what happens with our idiot of a governor. He's been putting in resumes and hopes for an interview.
Cole- Has decided (my to our heartbreak) not to play football at college. He was having increased anxiety and panic attacks. The coach in the weight room was an ass to him. I can't say anything but positives for the other coaches. They were concerned and called us. Cole had to make the decision for himself. He feels he wants to "focus on my degree and get on with my life". Well you can't fight that. Other than that he's doing well and seems to be enjoying this semester and talking about next fall which is a positive.
Kyle- Is still hopelessly in love. He starts baseball open gym this week and you can just feel him vibrate with excitement. Grades are doing good. He's usually busy with either lifting weights or with friends.
Clay- is preparing for the destination imagination competition on the 12th. He's not really happy with the role they gave him for the main challenge. I think pitching the sales presentation is perfect for him. He's at a friends house today.
Terry- Busy getting ready for the play this upcoming weekend "Aladdin". Just a couple more things to do on the set and costumes. I forgot to get a genie lamp. OOPs kinda important. Should be here by Tues. Dress rehearsal is Wed and performances are Thurs. Fri, Sat afternoon. Sat night we are helping with the wrestling tournament.

Last night Bill, Clay and myself went to our sports fundraiser. The "Britians" a Beatles show band played. They were really good. The weather and the economy kept alot of people away though.
That's my latest update into our lives. Hope everyone is doing well.

Saturday, February 19, 2011

Happy Saturday!

Week has been awfully quiet here. Ok at least since Wed. It's funny how the kids really don't like to have me down. They have all been very attentive. Bill came in today to give me the anti-inflammatory meds I should have been taking the last 3 days but oh well better late then never. Cole's home this weekend. His buds all came home so he did too. Seems like this semester is going better for him. Kyle went to the (oh god help him) Justin Bieber movie with his girlfriend and another couple. Thank goodness he went to the boys basketball game after. Clay has just been a bundle of energy. I think I'll send him outside since it's so nice. Off to work on the Aladdin costumes and props.

2011 and YUCK!

2010 went out terrible and I was hoping for better things in 2011. As you can tell there hasn't been anything written on my blog in a month and that's because I haven't had a whole lot of upbeat and interesting things to say. 2011 will be my year of trials. It's a year that may send me to the nut house. Please don't tell me things could be worse because then we are just tempting fate (which by the way is out to get me). Let's just hope there is better things ahead.

Kyleism's

"Why am I so much like Grandpa? We're both SUPER good looking, great athelete's, ripped out of our minds and have super short girls! You know we both have tempers too. We're both driven. We both love baseball. I just wish I had his hands!"

Kyle it's genetics!

"I'm so glad I the good, no GREAT genes. ME and Caleb got lucky. I feel sorry for Cole and Clay."

Oh Kyle!

Where does this boy get his thoughts.

First Week of 2011

Wow I've survived the first full week of 2011. It's hasn't gone the way I'd like however that's living with teenagers. I started to detox my house and get rid of the clutter which is difficult living with a pack rat. He still has his grandparents bankbook for Chicago and won't let me throw it away.
I'm also getting back into shape which starts with having my legs fixed. I found out today the insurance has approved the surgery. While I don't look forward to going under the knife, I look forward to not having the pain in the legs anymore. This will help get me motivated to get my walking shoes on again. Bill is fixing my weight machine downstairs so there will be no excuses anymore.
Boys have been busy. Cole is enjoying being home. I think it may be a battle to get him to go back to college. He has adjusted to a lot of things just fine and still adjusting to others. Kyle is enjoying having the new freedom of driving. It's nice that we don't have to wait up to go get him. Clay is enjoying having the boys all together and likes having Kyle take him to the end of the road for the bus. He also thinks it's pretty cool to go with the boys alone. He's having a friend over this weekend. Should be fun.
