Cold, Cold, Go Away!

It's a good thing I'm working weekends right now because the weather has been anything but nice. I'm so cold I have contemplated going back to my winter jacket. YUCK! Well Mr. Clay has learned a new skill called manipulation. Can we all say it together, Manipulation. He wanted to go see a movie today and I really wasn't up for it. He was playing with my phone and asked which number Dad was for speed dial. I told him (first mistake). He then proceeded to call Bill and ask if we could go to a movie. I wasn't worried at this point because my darling husband who thinks going to a movie is a waste of money and he was busy would just explain to Clay that we couldn't do it this weekend (mistake #2 never expect the expected). Bill then asks Clay which movie and what time would we like to go. Huh?! Where's my cheap husband and what did you do with him. Hello?! Then I get told by Clay that I really need to do something with him because he missed me. The kid just got out of be 20 minutes before I got home. I don't even think he knew I was gone. Now let's go to the doe eyes and the pleases. Can this get any worse? So Mom takes the boys to the movie knowing it's in 3D. Our theater does not have the equipment to show it in 3D, big disappointment. The movie (Monsters vs. Aliens) was very cute and I would love to have seen it in 3D. I now have to keep on my toes with this kid.

Another Friday alone

Boy I thought having kids and being married meant I would never be alone on a Friday night. Cole is going to a friends place to see their new car. Kyle is at a friends house for the night and Clay is bored and doesn't want to play with me. Bill is trying fix Cole's tire and then going to another friends house to see what's wrong with their car. Good thing I got some good movies for tonight.

I have to make a correction in my last blog Cole does not BENCH 175, he benches 240 or more. He curls 175. Boy make one simple mistake and watch out.

Weekend plans are work, fix cars, instruct Cole on how to fix cars and keep Clay and Kyle from killing each other. Another full weekend.

Practice should never end!

Well I guess you know when a kid likes the sport he's in. When I went to practice to pick Kyle kid up the coach was giving them a lecture. I'm guessing they were a little squirrley and not listening. The coach then looked at Kyle as he was blowing a huge bubble and asked him if he liked the drills and practice. Kyle just looked at him and didn't miss a beat and said well it's baseball isn't it. Then he proceeded to tell the coach that practice was to short and should go from 4-9. He did get a few odd looks and a couple of other die hards that agreed with him. He's already asking when traveling team try outs are. So much for trying to force him into it.

Cole's first track meet is a week from today. I hope he does well. He was excited because he benched 175 last night.

Clay's not happy with me because his teacher wants him to return to after school study hall. To make matters worse they are recommending summer school for language arts for him. Can you hear the lead balloon crashing? We'll see how the rest of the year goes. That may throw him over the edge.

Bill wants a date night tonight. I don't know after the day I had if I can enjoy it. My partner called in sick and I was swamped.

I can't believe it's Wed.!

This week is whizzing right by. Clay's guitar lessons got cancelled tonight so that jsut leaves the boys practices. I like a simple life with no other commitments but the daily laundry and cleaning. I think by me being gone on the weekends has taken it's toll on the house. It was great when the kids were outside but now... Oh well what else would I have to do.

On your marks, Hey batter,batter!

We are now officially off vacation. Track and baseball are on the way. Cole just got home from practice and Kyle is getting ready to go. He's got the late gym time. Darn rain! The way things were looking both kids were going to be able to be outside but we now have rain. Cole's starting to go a little stir crazy practicing inside and Kyle knows it's going to be loud in the gym. Clay is content just to be a beach bum this year. That's ok by me. Pick up material for a new sewing project. Hope it turns out.

Happy Birthday Caleb!

WOW! How can you be 4 already?! I was looking for a picture of you but all I could find was one with a kazoo in your mouth! Hope you have a wonderful day! Love You!

Nothing to do Saturday!

First let me just warn everyone NEVER to say anything about a car going down in front of the car because inevitably something always goes wrong. I worked late yesterday and then met the guys for dinner. On the way home the dash lights and headlights started to dim. Now Bill is out getting a new alternator. Such sensitive machines.

For once I have nothing really to do all day until tonight. Then I get to go watch my niece slice gracefully across the ice in the most adorable costume. I have to get my girl fix once in awhile. I can't wait.

For you non snow people our world is once again white. There were no cheers of joy here. Baseball starts Monday, Cole's looking at practicing in the snow as well. Everyone has spring fever. I'm sure the snow won't last they are calling for 50+ temps.

The Grass isn't always greener

Every now and then I feel like maybe I would like to be the boss. I have even applied for some and have asked to become a manager twice (the facility really needed an OTR), then my boss goes on vacation and I have to cover. OK time for reality check. I really like being a peon!!! I don't have the stress, I rarely have to work overtime, I get to leave all the crap and go home! Why would anyone vounteer for this tourture! I can't wait 'till She gets back!

Happy 17 on the 17th

Can't believe the kids 17 today! He doesn't know what he wants for his birthday from ma and pa so we're waiting. We're going out to eat but he doesn't really know where. He was thinking IHOP. Aunt Jen would be so proud. He says thanks for all the gifts. 4:50 tonight he'll be officially 17!

Spring is Springing!

This is one of those beautiful spring days when the sun is nice and warm, you can open all the windows for the first time, and the all important shed your coat. It's so nice to step out of work today and see such wonderful weather. The boys are thrilled and for the first time in a long time are outside without me pushing them out. They are so glad to be on spring break this week and happy this is the way it started. Cole even took them out for ice cream.
We signed Cole up for his ACT's . We are making him take it just to keep all his options open. He thinks he knows what he wants but like everyone there's time to change. He's one of these kids who test very well.
Kyle's getting anxious about when he can start umpiring this year. I think he likes the money that goes with it as well. He hasn't tried out for the tournament team yet. They haven't set the date for that. It always makes me nervous.
Clay is just having fun riding his bike up and down the road and thru the puddles. Hey whatever makes you happy.
Bill's out fixing a friends car and I'm just chillin' after a tough day at work. (Partner's gone) Enjoy your day!

We do DI do U?

Regional DI competition was today. I appraised and Kyle competed. Kyle's team is going to state. They usually take the top 2 but his team was the only team entered at this regionals under the middle school They didn't do real well but now have time to make the adjustments before state. I got to appraise the instant challenge with my friend Mary. We had a good time and a nice challenge also. It's top secret until after Globals so I can't tell you what the challenge was. Cole's at a movie that he tried to get into yesterday but they wouldn't let him in because he's not 17 yet. Bill had to meet him to get him in. Like we said you can't drink 3 days before your 21 so you shouldn't be allowed into a R-rated movie 3 days before 17. Time for me to relax before work tomorrow. Bill's out grillin'. Can't wait until supper.

TGIF!!!

I jumped out of bed this morning and my hubby asked why I was in such a hurry? I told him I had to get going and get Kyle up and go pick up Mary by 6. He then informed me that it was Friday and I needed to go to work not Shawano for DI. OK so I need to get a little reality orientation.

Big discussion as to where we are going for dinner on Tuesday because now the b-day boy wants to go out with his friends. Go figure. Tonight I'm going to be a vegetable. Movies and popcorn.

Where are instructions for a teenager?!

I love being a parent most of the time but days like today....! One kid has some friends that are not making the wisest of choices and these are the kids that are "fun" and he wants to hang around with. Time to be the enforcer! How do you get through to them that these types of kids are always going to be these types of kids as adults? They never seem to grow up or go anywhere in life. Kid #1 has some really nice kids he hangs with and he has a good time with them but every now and then he heads over to the naughty kids. Kid #2 is in the middle of the teenage angst and like his parents doesn't know when to keep his mouth shut. He seems to always be in a rotten mood and today is no different. Then we get to #3. He pulled some major temper tantrums lately and therefore is grounded from going to his friends house this week. So he pouting and stomping around here. I'd love to be the "nice and fun" parent and just say "It's ok let's just forget everything". It would make my life easier but then what does that teach them? Next baby shower I'm going to I'm going to find the instruction book and give it to them. Like my mother always said "when you have little ones you have little problems. When you have bigger kids you have bigger problems." I just didn't need them all at once!

Snowy Sunday!

I was glad Bill wanted to ride with me today to Wild Rose. He had to go get some car parts over by Holy Hill. I got done just before he got back. The roads were terrible. He ran into ice and rain. We had almost a white out coming home. I was glad I didn't have to drive in it. I'm looking forward to a nice quiet week. Kyle has DI competition this Sat in Shawno so we'll be there until at least noon. Cole starts track tomorrow. Which is hard to imagine right now with 4" of new snow. I don't know what I'll do with all my free time now. This will only last for about 2 more weeks. Then it's Bleacher Butt season!!

Closing Night!

Well chalk another one up for the year! The play went wonderful and things are all cleaned up and I don't have to worry about anything for another year. I never had so much help tearing things down it was wonderful.

I'm working tomorrow and the boys are driving down with me. They are going to go look at a part for the project Cole and Bill are working on. It will be nice to have the company to drive with. The weather is not suppose to be great in the morning so that will be really nice to have Bill drive. We'll see if it all works out.

Harry Potter marathon is on USA! I'm so excited that that's all I'm doing tonight with Clay. I just have to wait until after 8 until I can get my pj's on and settle in. He's at a cast party until then.
Don't forget to spring ahead. I know some people find this as a good sign of spring, I just find it annoying to my sleep.

Hey I get to sleep in tomorrow!

I love love love having a day off when life gets so busy. The kids have off a school tomorrow and I took of thinking the older 2 would be going on the school ski trip. Only Kyle is going. Cole has to work the next 3 days. His bank account is growing and he really likes that. Bill is always a little jealous when I have the day off and he doesn't and also because tomorrow I'm making him get up early and take Kyle in to catch the bus at 5:30. We have the play tonight. Pacelli is playing in Marathon for basketball playoffs so I don't think we'll get a huge crowd other than parents and friends tonight. Boys went for their last long snowmobile ride last night. It's 47 out today and the snow is melting and rain is headed our way. I'd like to think it's spring but I won't get to excited until the state boys tournament. It always seems we get one nasty weekend then and then we really see spring.

Clays presents have been arriving (Thanks G and G P). He just came in and said "You know Mom you better give me my present now since my birthday is coming up." I think he is sadly mistaken if he thinks he should have a present a day. Oh the birthday bonanza that is March. By the way I need to know what color the transformer that looks like this is?

Opening Night!

Well opening day! I always get the jitters when we do the first performance. Of course things go wrong but it's ok. The backstage crew only had one little hiccup but we've got it fixed (Ihope). It's amazing to see such huge voices come out of little bodies. Kyle does a nice job running his side of the stage and at times has to tell me what going to happen next. 3 more performances. I'm glad tonights a early night. I need to chill for the evening.

Whoopee!

Well we came home from casino night winners! We won a 32" flat screen. The fight then ensued as to where it is to go. Cole figured it should go in the basement and he needed it because he has a diagnosed eye condition that requires HD. I gave him 5 seconds to remember to whom he was speaking to. He just laughed and said not to be surprised then that his Xbox might end up in my room. Win-win situation for me. I get to keep the tv and be able to spend time with him.
Kyle was out paint balling on Sunday and having a blast. Clay decided to throw a temper tantrum and I grounded him from going to his friends house the rest of the week. I get a note thrown at me about 8 that read, "Dear Mom, I'm sorry for the things I did. Love Clay" Sweet I know but then we read further to "P.S. You ruined my life" OK what do you say to this? Drama King. Plays the rest of the week so I'll be busy.
