Mid week update

It's a double!
"Let's pick this dude off!"

A real bromance.

Kyle had 2 games so far this week. If it doesn't rain he'll play tomorrow. He tied both games which is really sad. The coaches aren't playing the right kids in the right position and are still in the "this is for fun" mode. Most of the kids want to win and this is making them very unhappy.

Cole and his buddies are getting their cruiser race car ready. They have all the door panels, glass, hood, and tail lights off. Tonight they are working on getting the rest of the unofficial stuff off. They are racing an old Crown Victoria police car. The engine needs a little work so we'll see when they will get it all done.

Clay was invited to a friends house and he had a blast. It's nice to see he's getting invited over to peoples houses. It makes me nervous because I'm not sure how he'll behave. He tends to make himself right at home. This family has 4 boys and 1 girl.

Bill's running around crazy. He had several warranty inspections to do in Wausau this week and he has meetings for youth and high school football as well as the kids stuff. My job is just to make sure everyone is to where they are suppose to be.

Junior's Junior Prom

Well it was a small battle but we got him there and he was happy when we left. His initial plans fell through because one of the guys got into a fight with one of the girls so the guys baled on Prom completely. Cole got invited to a girls house where all the juniors were going for pictures and then he was invited to stay and eat. Not all the kids pictured stayed there to eat only about half. Nathan was sure happy when he walked in and saw his date. She's the little blonde in the low cut pink dress third from the right in the first picture. Bill counted there were 13 boys and 13 girls not all of them had dates. I sure hope they all have a safe and good time.

Bills dad is still in the hospital. They thinned his blood to much. The hospital he's at doesn't know how to deal with the disorder they have. He's being transferred to the VA hospital in Houston on Monday. They were going to put a screen in to capture the clot but because his blood is to thin they can't or he'll bleed out.

Kyle won his game on Friday. He was 2/2 and got into a pickle between home and third. This was the most exciting part of the game. They went through most of the batting order each of the 5 innings.

A Day off!

Well my day started off with rumbles of thunder and rain. A nice reason to curl up and pull the covers over my head. The boys (except for Kyle) are still sleeping. I got my confirmation that I won my projector from e-bay. I can't wait to see the outdoor movies. Then Bill calls and tells me his dad is in the hospital. Evidently he told Bill his leg was swollen and sore for the past several days. Bill asked him if he thought it was a clot and he said no. Well guess what it is. It went from his calf to his knee. He's not able to move much and the dr.'s are giving more blood thinners. Love this Leiden factor 5 disorder. Bill and Denise are checking on flight to see the cheapest one they can get if they need to go down.

Kyle's got a game today if the rain stays away. It's sunny right now but we are told there could be severe storms this evening. I'll post later how he did if they play.

Where did my team go?

Kyle played Rapids East. We won't mention the score. Let's just say OUCH! Our first 4 batters struck out. Kyle grounded out and then we didn't get another hit until late in the batting order. The East pitchers were really throwing some heat. The home plate umpire was horrible. Just so you don't think I'm making this up Kyle had a 3-2 count and the pitch came in hit the plate and the ump called it a strike. Hello?! He's got another game tomorrow so hopefully the boys show up for this game. It's for pure bragging rights. A lot of the kids they are playing against they play on summer ball teams.
I have tomorrow off. I really need a day off. The kids are off of school so it will be nice to be home with them.

Earth day!

Well let's say I'm being more energy friendly these days. We aren't using as much gas as we had in the past. I'm using extra blankets vs. cranking the heat more. I'd like to get solar panels if they weren't so expensive.

We went to Kohl's to get Cole clothes for prom. He's going Johnny Cash on us. Black shirt, Purple, silver and black tie and black suspenders. His friend Nathan asked a girl now all the girls who don't have dates are hoping Cole and his other buddies ask them. I got a call from one of the other moms and she asked me exactly that. Cole still says no. The only plans I've gotten out of him are hot tubbing at Isaac's, grilling out (probably at the same time) and going to the dance. His boss gave them the day off to enjoy it. Cole would rather work and then enjoy the day however, Dylon (the one who got Cole the job) is taking their boss's daughter.

I'm just fighting with Clay and Kyle to get their homework done. It's driving me a little crazy. It's hard to get them to do anything when the weather is so nice. I try and remind them in a little over a month they don't have to worry about school work. Oh well.

It's Monday.

Well the week is starting out quiet. Clay's filling fell out of his tooth and the tooth cracked. The dentist said not to worry if it's wriggly, it's starting to come out. Kyle is attempting to work on his research paper. He's moaning and groaning. At least he gets to go to baseball practice in a little while to blow off some energy. Cole's at practice for track. It's raining like crazy and almost on the verge of snowing. I'm exhausted! I woke up after a horrible dream and couldn't go back to sleep. I think part of the reason for the dream is this odd book I read about blindness and we were talking about how good of an eye Kyle has in baseball. I'm taking Friday off. The kids have no school and we need to get Cole a shirt for prom. If he'd ask someone I'd get to see him in a tux. The last time was when he was 5. Oh well I just hope he has a good time. No games to report until Thursday if the weather is nice.

Super Saturday!

Wow! Kyle's team took 3rd! This is what they wanted. If they would have taken 2nd they would have went to Knoxville, TN for nationals. Very expensive. The kids were thrilled. There were 16 teams in his division and they only missed 2nd by 3 points. His coach was so very proud of them.
Kyle's on the right. The "problem" they had to do was research 2 different art forms and Morph them into one. They chose (with no parental help) architecture and culinary arts. Kyle is the assistant to the chef.

A large part of the problem is building a structure to hold as much weight as possible. The bottom had to fit a 7x7" block and the insides could not touch the block. The top had to be smaller and had to fit over the pole you see. There is a second piece with the same qualifications. It also can not weigh more that 30grams or for those of you who don't know, no more than the weight of 30 paperclips. That is why the building Kyle is standing in front of looks like it does. Our structure held 160#.
Clay had his first soccer game. It was more of a practice because it was the first day. Bill said he had a nice save and he really likes it.
Cole had to work today and I guess he really had to work hard. Hey put those muscles to use. He's playing trivia tonight.
Bill sold the big black van and is excited to get it gone. Now he can use the money to fix the truck he bought and pay Cole back the money he borrowed for it.
What a wow of a day!

Quiet before the storm

Tonight is a quiet night before we are all running around like crazy tomorrow. Cole had to get steel toes for work. I guess stepping on nails isn't something he cares to do more than once. Go figure. Kyle has Destination Imagination State competition at the University in the afternoon. I have to be there by 7 to judge. Bill has to help clean up football equipment for the youth league in the morning and take Clay to his first soccer (more like practice) game by 10:30. Then they are coming to watch Kyle's team. Trivia weekend is this weekend and Cole is going to a friends house tomorrow night to play. Tonight he's going to another friends to sit around a fire. Oh and I almost forgot Bill has a guy coming to look at the big black van from Tomahawk tomorrow sometime in the afternoon. It's great to be busy but do we all have to be in all different directions?

Opening Day!

It was 66 degrees at 4:28 when the wonderful words were spoken, "Batter Up!" Ben Franklin Jr. High A team vs. St. Peter 8th graders. Kyle played 2nd base to start with. This was a little bit of a shock since they had him practicing at 3rd and 1st for the last 2 weeks. Kyle being Kyle was a little upset but played like the ball player we all know he is. His first hit (which mom must have accidently erased) went just left of 1st base. His second at bat went out over the left fielder for a double. Bases were loaded with this at bat and he drove in two runs. 3rd up was a beautiful line drive up the right of short the center fielder put himself in a great spot for a beautiful snag. Kyle also had 3:4 RBI's tonight. What a way to start the season. Mom of course was very quiet. The final score 11-5. The whole team looked really good.

Middle of the week

It's finally the middle of the week. I got a call today and they don't need me to work extra on Friday. Wow so this is what it feels like to work 40 hours. Kyle has DI practice to prepare for state this weekend then to baseball. I dropped his stuff off and his coach said that she was going to let him go because she could see that not being out on the field was killing him. He has his first game tomorrow and is just vibrating with excitement. Oooops that's me.

Clay got a new pair of soccer cleats today. He's all excited about his first game Saturday. Hopefully I won't have to judge DI and can be there. The EB brought him shin guards and socks.

Cole's at track practice. He got home from the meet at 9 last night and was so tired this morning he felt he should be allowed to stay home. For goodness sakes kid you can't compete because of your grades and you went to Taco Bell with everyone after the meet, and by the way you didn't compete. Obviously the answer to the question of can I stay home was a NO!

Bill's out getting the big van ready to sell. There's a guy that's really hot to come see it. Hopefully it will be that easy to sell.

Happy Easter:)

Hope everyone has a Happy and safe Easter weekend. I know lots of you are traveling. The nice thing about holidays is that everyone is at home for the day. Love you all!

Where is everyone?

With it being such a beautiful day it seems like everyone has scattered. I was working then Bill, I and Clay went over to Amy's. They offered to make us a late lunch but we had just ate and we just wanted to catch up.
Clay decided to squirt Kyle and Bill with a squirt gun. Bill told him it was to cold so Clay went and filled the gun up with warm water. How thoughtful.
Cole worked his first day at the pallet company. He really liked it. His boss asked him what he was thinking about doing after high school and Cole told him so now his boss is also going to let him work with the diesel mechanics to get some experience. He and his friend Dyllon are in Wausau getting steel toed work boots. Stepping on nails they found out hurts.
Dad will love this. Bill and Kyle just went to Sentry golf course to go hit balls on the practice range.
I love the spring weather!

Washing Wednesday!

You know things are bad when you have done all the wash and have folded everything for 5 people and one pile is exceptionally low. This person (Cole) has been complaining he doesn't have any clothes and can not find his favorite jeans and t-shirt. Mom goes up to said persons room and guess what. I find enough clothes to outfit a small country. Now I probably have 5-6 loads of laundry just for this kid. I love teenagers. To think I was just complaining to the youngest sis that I am really going to have a hard time having him leave after next year.
Kyle's upset because his baseball practice got cancelled because they can't practice after 6 because of CCD classes being held at the school and they are cancelled tomorrow because of it being holy Thursday. Wait until he finds out his bat will be here tomorrow.

Track Tuesday

It's 51 degrees but freezing winds. We're all sitting outside watching our kids run, jump, and throw. I got to see Cole throw the discus. He wasn't happy but took 2nd. I think the wind and the cold had an affect on all the events today. It was yucky. So I'm sitting there (actually standing), watching the events, talking with the parents and waiting until Cole throws the shot. I see him walking around talking to kids. He comes by me upset because he only threw 33'. WHAT?! WHEN?! I drive all the way to Plainfield stand in the cold and wait for him to throw and I miss it? Silly kid forgot to tell me he was going.
Kyle's got baseball tonight at 6. He's anxiously awaiting his new bat.
Clay and Bill made homemade Pizza. I think he's coming down with a cold. He sounded like Barry White this morning but seems ok now.

Happy 42nd Tim!!!!

Happy Birthday Tim! It's nice to think we actually got to our 40's. We we're terrorizing our parents when they were this age and we also were thinking how old they were. If I remember correctly Peggy was this age when she finally finished her degree and she was starting to help plan my wedding. How's that for perspective. Hope you don't find any grey hairs today. Enjoy!!!

Catchin' up on the week!

I forgot to mention that Cole had a track meet in Wild Rose on Thursday. The boys and I went to watch. Cole was scheduled to run the 4x100m but Nathan saved him and ran it for him. He did throw the discus and shot. He threw 117' in the discus and 36'6" in the shot. This was good enough for 2nd and 3rd place. The 1st place guy threw 132' and he missed 2nd by 3". He was pretty excited about this especially because it was his first meet. Kyle thought the meet was ok and Clay sat in the car playing a video game. For those of you unfamiliar with track the meets go for 4-5 hours. We left shortly after Cole got done.

I finally got my wedding ring back and it looks beautiful. I love taking it in to get cleaned. They also had to change the head because after 20 years it wore down.

Clay is an only child today both boys are busy. He likes the attention and cuddles when they are gone.

Bill's got to go get more chickens tomorrow. Denise's are chasing Afton and she's getting upset. So we will have a ton of eggs. The only draw back is he wants to use my van to go get them. 4 little words to this request. I Don't Think So!

This upcoming weeks preview entails 4 days of baseball practice (first game is the 16th) and one track meet in Amherst. I'm going to have to choose between baseball and track in the next couple of weeks. Cole has some important meets that are close the same time Kyle has games. This will be a Bill goes one way and Terry goes another and Clay which would you like to go to?

TGIF?!

Well it's Friday. For most this means the weekend to come. For me it's work, work, work. I'm not complaining because it's nice to be wanted. Also because I'll have our vacation this winter paid up.
Kyle and I went shopping for a new bat. Yikes are they expensive. We found the exact same bat $50 cheaper on the net. We're going to order it tomorrow. He's so excited.
Bill and Cole are going to a movie together tonight. I'm not going because it's 100% car chases. Yuck! Clay and I hit the video store and he got a game and I got movies. It's going to be a nice quiet night.
Kyle is at his friends house helping set up for the party tomorrow. They are paint balling! It should be a wonderful time.
Have a nice weekend. Welcome home Mom and Dad. Brrrrrrrr!

You don't want to do that!

It's like the movies. Someone says don't go in there or don't look now and you know that no matter what that person is not going to listen. We had such an incident last night. Kyle came home from ball practice to see me crying my eyes out because I just got done watching Marley and me. I told Kyle "You can't watch this movie." to which he responded "Yes I can. I wanted to see this ever since it was at the theaters." Then he proceeds to laugh at me for crying. I tell him why (I'm not telling what I said to save those of you who haven't watched the movie yet). So he knows what happens and yells at me for telling him the end. Forward and hour and a half to a boy who isn't just tearful but outright sobbing. "I'm just thinking about Tank." Boo hoo sob, hyperventilate a little, cough, cough. You get the picture. For those of you who aren't familiar with Tank this is Kyle yellow lab who look just like Marley in the movie and behaves just as well. Bill summed it up best as an old yeller movie. If you don't cry you don't have a heart. Due to the cold yucky wintery mix weather tonight we're watching 7 pounds.

Happy Birthday Mary!
