Casino Night

Just got back from helping set up for the night. There are some really nice prizes such as a flat screen TV, outdoor wildlife camera, quilts, jewelry, tuition to school (that's the one all of us want). Bill's a blackjack dealer tonight and I'm selling raffle tickets. should be a fun night. Everyone is excited. We just need to make sure we get Kyle home to babysit Clay. Cole is off shopping. Can't wait to see what he brings home. He had a plan of what he wanted before he went. Bill's snowmobiling right now. They are going up the new (not opened) hwy 10. Since everyone is gone Clay and I are headed out to lunch. I'm not sure where he's decided to go yet. Wish me luck tonight. I'd like to be able to come home with something. 2 years ago I got Cole 3 months with the personal trainer.

It's so quiet I can hear!

Kyle's at a friends house (amazing for a kid who is always home HAHA), Cole is at a friends house right now but just called to say he'd be home early tonight because he and a bunch of guys are going shopping in Appleton tomorrow. Like a said before the girl I never had. Clay's in the tub and Bill's watching tv. I couldn't ask for a better night after the busy week we've all had and the weekend to come. Clay and I got a new game it's kind of like tetris. Clay is really good at this and can see spots to lay his game pieces down really fast. This night is just the calm before the storm.

Let it snow Let it snow Let is snow

The flakes are as big outside as they are on the inside right now. I have a fairly free night tonight. I really need a night at home. Cole doesn't have to work tonight because the game got canceled because of the weather. It will be nice just to relax with everyone. Well I'm off to finish up just a few things on the set which will take me less than a half an hour and then it's to home and under some blankets to relax. Have a nice night watching the 50 cent size flakes.

Fat Tuesday!

Hey everyday is a fat day for me! Today I get to celebrate and eat! Of course with my kids going to Catholic schools everyone is talking about what sacrifices they are going to make for the Lenten season. Clay has come up with some good ones but they are for everyone else. I am giving myself and my talents to the spring musical. This comes with some stress so giving up my Milky Ways is not going to happen at this time. I think I shall give up cooking and let Bill do it. By the way he does most of it now. I can give my money to a worthy cause like Cole going clothes shopping with his friends this weekend or Kyle would like a new bat. I can try and see the good in people but being surrounded daily with such talented kids at the musical it's not really tough and not really a sacrifice. I will give up meat on Fridays. No big deal I like cheese pizza's and spaghetti and tuna casserole. I really can't come up with anything that would make a huge impact on me. Life is really pretty good. So I guess the best I can do it to try and live life to be the best person I can.

You might be a Wisconsinite if...

Ok I got this sent to me today and I had to chuckle because if you don't find yourself in one of these your either blind or in denial.
If you consider it a sport to gather your food by drilling through 38 inches of ice and sitting there all day hoping that the food will swim by, you might live in Wisconsin ...
If you're proud that your region makes the national news 96 nights each year because Park Falls is the coldest spot in the nation, you might live in Wisconsin ...
If you have ever refused to buy something because it's 'too pricey,' you might live in Wisconsin ...
If your local Dairy Queen is closed from November through March, you might live in Wisconsin ...
If you instinctively walk like a penguin for five months out of the year, you might live in Wisconsin ...
If someone in a store offers you assistance, and they don't work there, you might live in Wisconsin ...
If your dad's suntan stops at a line curving around the middle of his forehead, you might live in Wisconsin ...
If you may not have actually eaten it, but you have heard of Head Cheese, you might live in Wisconsin ...
If you have worn shorts and a parka at the same time, you might live in Wisconsin ...
If you have either a pet or a child named 'Brett,' you might live in Wisconsin ...
If your town has an equal number of bars and churches, you might live in Wisconsin ...
If you have had a lengthy telephone conversation with someone who dialed a wrong number, you might live in Wisconsin ...
If you know how to say Oconomowoc, Waukesha , Menomonie & Manitowoc, you might live in Wisconsin ...
If you think that ketchup is a little too spicy, you might live in Wisconsin ...
If every time you see moonlight on a lake, you think of a dancing bear, and you sing gently, 'From the land of sky-blue waters,'....you might live in Wisconsin ...
One that's not in here but if you use or know what the word pertnear or yous is you might live in Wisconsin. God I love this state!

Why can't I just win the lottery?

You know I would love to just win the lottery but God just doesn't feel that things should come that easy for me. I went to work this morning and found out I had not just 4 hours but 7 hours of treatment to complete. I just got home (3:30). I had to deal with a really crabby family before I left. They didn't like it that I didn't have the inside scoop on their loved one and I was just a casual. The upside to this is that I'm socking away the money for vacation and Cole for senior pictures and school. On my way home my boss calls me to let me know she's probably not coming in because her 14 year old now has influenza A just like her 18 year old. What this translates for me is lots of extra work and overtime. She also let me know that as of right now there is no one scheduled in her place for Spring Break. This will also mean overtime and lots of extra work plus 2 hours of meetings I'll attend in her place that week. My issue isn't with the work or the time and a half it's just winning the lottery would be so much nicer and easier. For once it would be nice if something was easy for me. Alright that's enough whining. By the way if flashing my tata's on Mardi Gras would get me millions you better believe I would do it.

Pictures of my Projects!

Keep in mind Clay is taking the pictures wit my phone and I just got home from a course in Greenbay after a 2 and half hour drive home. Roads were terrible. The pink shirt doesn't go well with most of them. Clay had to have me add him into the mix because he took the pictures. Next big project is the prom dress. No it's not for Cole. It's for one of the girls I used to coach in softball and she's a senior. I'm off to make my nuts. Wish me luck!

What Weekend?!

I have to go to a course tomorrow that I would really like to get out of but can't. I'm working on Sunday, and when I am home I have to work on stuff for the play. I am so ready to have bleacher butt season coming up. Cole's working tonight, Kyle and most of his class are going to see the movie Fired Up, and Clay is going to help me make paper mache walnuts. Whoopee we live life in the fast lane. Enjoy your quiet and fun weekends.

Set almost done

Almost done is a wonderful thing except when the directors come up to you and say "Oh by the way..." This could mean something as small as we need a cane to we need 50 large nuts for the squirrels. Ok I thought I could relax a little, no way! Then I also get a call to work this Sunday in Wild Rose. I knew I'd get used and abused by this place. I just have to start putting the checks in an account for Cole for school. Cole and his friends have been helping me build the big set pieces and its really fun with them, as long as you remember that you are with 3 17 year old boys. Clay and Bill went to get a hair cut and to make things really funny he was talking to Sandy and found out Brian is dating again. This is not the funny part hold on..... here it comes.... get ready... his girlfriend owns the Frost Watch. Jason and Brian are old childhood friends too. Boy that girl just can't stay away from anyone involved with the family. OK I just realized that sounded a little like the Mafia. Yipes!

Candy man can!

I'm telling you I'm starting to sing songs from Willy Wonka and I've only had to hear them for 2 days. My hands are fuchsia pink from painting the candy boat (looks like a giant pink dragon). Kyle was painting the Bucket's house tonight and having fun. He's the most experienced backstage person we have so we've been relying on him a lot. He's refusing to take his medication because it makes him feel really crummy. I need to call to schedule an appointment with the dr. to see what can be done before the end of next week. He's doing standardize testing (don't get me started on how I feel about these and the ACT's) and I don't want him feeling horrible for them. Kyle bowled last night and got a 95. The highest score right now is a 156. Cole won't tell me what he bowled tonight. He thought he had to work tonight but it's tomorrow and Friday. Saturday night is Sadie Hawkins day dance. The problem is the girls will all complain because the guys don't ever ask them to a dance but when it's their turn no one will ask the guy. Bill's playing BINGO tonight with the little ladies from the apartment building. They bought him his cards and are saving him a spot. The progressive pot is over $4000. It'd be nice if he would win. He'd have to buy them lunch one day if he did.

Busy weekend

We had a 50th party for a friend today. It was fun because there were people we haven't seen in a long time. I also realized some people just never grow up. Like the guy who gave his wife a valentine on Sat. and hasn't seen or heard from her since. OK? might want to try cell phone, family, police? Hello? We also had to go in and put up the set for the play so the kids can get used to the curtains starting tomorrow. Can't wait to just chill tonight. (I pretty much did this in the morning before the party too.) Back to the grind tomorrow.

Happy Valentines Day!!

Bill almost wrecked a 26 year tradition of pizza on Valentines day. He almost put a ham in the oven. He and Clay are going to make pizza tonight. They make a pretty mean pizza. Cole had to work at 2:15 and then he's got to go back and work at 6:30 tonight. Kyle's still gone to his friends house and I worked until about 2 today. We just got back from picking Clay up at his friends B-day party. It's getting pretty bad when he makes sure to tell us not to be there early. He also feels that we should let him have a party at a hotel and get him and his friends there own room because "you know we may just want to be alone without parents" . It's getting pretty bad when your baby doesn't even want you. Bill didn't help any when he fed into how great an idea this was. Have a loving warm touchy feely day today.

Friday the 13th Spooky

Well it's Friday the 13th! hopefully no one walked under ladders, saw black cats, or spilt salt without throwing over your shoulder. It's going to be a quiet night tonight here. Cole is going to a basketball game and Bill's thinking about going with him. Kyle is going to a movie and then overnight with friends. Clay is busy with a new DS game he got for Valentines day from Cupid. I am going to curl up on the couch with him and read a book. Nice and quiet. I'm ready for a night like tonight. We finished painting the backdrop for Willy Wonka. We have to put it up this weekend and then start painting the other projects 2 weeks and it's all done. It's fun now that I'm not in charge this year. Enjoy some quiet tonight.

Holy Cow!

When did valentines day get so expensive. I know cards are pricey but WOW! I went to the bargain bin to get the boys something. I found each one a game for their systems. I get up to the counter with the cards, games, and a birthday present for a party Clay's going to and can I just say sticker shock! I mean I love the boys and all but what a cost!
I decided to come home tonight and not work on the play set. The teacher I'm working with had a meeting and there were no kids there to help so I figured it was good. There's a bad cold going around work and I'm starting to come down with it. I thought a slow evening and a nice hot bath would help. So here's to knowing when to say when. Hopefully Brett has learned this by now. Please don't tell me anyone is surprised by this. Bill thinks he'll show up with the Vikings next season. I wouldn't be surprised.

Home again Home again!

Well it's been a busy weekend with working and running kids. I'm glad I'm home again. Bill and Cole both had errands for me to do after work today so getting home took a little longer. No need to worry I don't think anyone else knew I was gone.
I need to finish one of my projects today so I can take a picture of all of them and post them.
Cole is working the last play today and then to a cast party afterwards. I don't think I'll see him until about 6 tonight. Kyle is just vegging and Clay is running around. We're trying to get him outside. It's beautiful today. Boys are not happy because the snow is melting and that means no more snowmobiling for a while. Oh well.

I love days off!

It was a nice day at home today. Kyle had a friend sleep over last night. They, Bill, and Al went snowmobiling for 5 hours last night. Me being the pick up crew had to take Kyle his spare headlight when they were out in Amherst. Other than that it sounds like they had a great time. I'm not sure how my brother-in-law is doing he rode from Pittsville to Point and then to Rosholt and back. I'm thinking he's going to be a little sore today. Cole was working at the play and then stayed at Nathan's last night. I saw him long enough to change clothes. Clay is now wondering when Cole is going to be coming home (translation; How long can I play his 360?) Bill's firing up the grill. I'm laughing my but off at the new Stephanie Plum book. Monkeys, raccoons, and of course Lula. What could be better for a day off. Oh Yeah! Jacob (Kyle's friend) made me a bunch of Chocolate chip cookies as a thank you gift for having him over this winter and for Bill taking him snowmobiling. Cookies, a good book and a Coke! Sweet living!

Things are looking up!

Well the beginning of the week was rough and life just threw it's black (ok more like dark grey) cloud over life. Things have started to improve. Maybe it's because I have tomorrow off with the boys. I haven't had them all to myself in like forever. Wait until they see what I have planned. Hopefully it isn't to warm.

I can't believe it's been 15 whole years of marriage! Where has the time gone? Jen will never wear a two piece dress around a certain uncle again. I sure hope Tim has finally given up Monique. (ha ha) That could be code for something but I won't ask. Congrats! Deb and Tim and may you get the 50 more you hope for. Just remember how happy you are with each other now when you start building that house.

Sad, Deppressing, Day

Don't read this if you don't want to get depressed. A girl that Cole went to school with (she would be a Sr.) died this weekend due to complications with her C-section and an ovarian cyst. She was a good friend of Allies. Yes she got pregnant and gave birth this Nov. Cole went to the funeral today. It was nice of the school to let the kids out to go. Yesterday a guy Bill works with just lost his 31 year old son to a massive heart attack. It's just been a very sad two days and the funerals are going to be horrible. It really makes you want to hug your kids a little harder and love them a little more.

Better days are a comin'

I had a really busy day today. I was alone in the department and really busy. I went to work on the back drop for the upcoming musical and working with 3 teenage boys was fun. Kyle was even one of them. It was a nice way to relax.
Cole's working on the musical tonight. It was nice to have everyone home last night.
Everyone else is doing well. I just wish it would warm up so I can get outside.

Monday Sucks!

This is how my day went. I don't think things are going to get better soon.

Runaround Sunday

Cole's at the play, Kyle's at a friends lake fishing and running 4 wheelers (he was out this morning with his friend Jesse on the snowmobiles), Bill, Clay and I ran to Menards to get curtains for the living room and paint for the dinning room. Now we are just getting ready to watch the Superbowl. Bill's grilling ribs. I can't wait! I just have to make sure we have BBQ sauce. Kyle has requested mash potatoes. I talked to Deb and she asked if I have the 3D glasses. I better ask Bill if he got them this morning when he went into the grocery store. Should be a boring game but you never know they may surprise us. GO Cardinals! Go Pittsburgh!
