Our Super Soccer Player!

Sigh, it's Sunday

Well last nights UTI interview was very long (3 Hours) Cole got the recommendations for admittance though. We need to decide if he wants to do the application for admittance soon. If he does and gets accepted we get locked into the current tuition. It looks like he would be done in 18 months and be able to take the certification tests for ASE for automotive and diesel. I just want to give him a couple of days to get through finals and then sit down to discuss it. The program is all hands on. I really liked the lifetime support they provided. I didn't like the cost but that's with any school right now.

Clay lost his last soccer game by 1. He got another assisted goal. He really doesn't like to be a defender. He can really go after the ball.

Kyle went to a friends house last night. He's just so glad that baseball is rolling and he's looking forward to next weekends tournament. He had a great time at Mt. Olympus. On the way home one of the kids announced that the St. Pete's kids didn't have to go out for the traveling team try outs on Friday that there would be a special try out for them so they would be fresh. Neither Amy or I heard about this so we made the boys go. Even after spending all day in the water park both kids did amazing. Kyle and Jesse hit the hide off the ball. This should be a fun traveling season.

Saturday Results

Cole finished 11th out of 18. He was hoping for 10th. The cage they throw from had an extra piece of fencing in front and threw (no pun intended) everyone off. The kid who usually throws 178' threw 150'. He won the meet with a 158'. Cole was throwing 125 and was hoping for a 130 but got a 118'. There's always next year.
Kyle tried out for the traveling team. He got there about 15 min late because of his field trip. He did wonderful. At the end the coach told all the kids it was a great first practice. I'm assuming they all made it. Next weekend we have our first tournament. Thank goodness it's in Plover.
Clay has a soccer game this morning if it doesn't get rained out. I'll update this hopefully with pictures later.

Crazy Days

These next couple of days are going to be nuts. Last night Bill and one of the other coaches pulled together a scrimmage. Kyle was thrilled. He got to play finally and this was wonderful. We went and got him snacks for his trip to Mt. Olympus today. It's suppose to be a wonderful day out so I hope he has a great time. After work today I need to hike it up to Marathon for Cole's meet. I hope he does well. I think he's hoping for a top 10 finish. He really doesn't think he'll make it to state because he's not throwing 150'. Then I get to run back, pick up Kyle at 6 and take him to traveling team try outs at 6:30. Tomorrow I get to come into work for 2 people, watch Clay's final soccer game, go home clean the house and at 7:30 Cole's UTI interview. And just to make you all think I'm really nuts. Sunday I'm working and then we have a grad party, a benefit and a football meeting. I exhausted just writing this. The rest of the week after is just crazy too. Hope everyone has a good weekend and I'll try and let everyone know how the meet and the interview go.

Another Day of Rained Out Baseball

Kyle's miserable because he has had 3 days of rained out baseball. Now this wouldn't be bad for any other kid but this gives mine hives. He's so ornery. We are taking him to see the Pacelli girls softball playoff game. Hopefully he'll satisfy his baseball itch a little bit. Cole's friend took the picture above at the track meet. I thought it was funny. Bill's out getting his new chicks settled. This means more chicken in the freezer in about 6 weeks. Cole had his athletic banquet last night and got his second track letter. He had to stand up and be recognized for making it to sectionals. It was a nice evening.

On to Sectionals and BB rain out

Kyle's first game under the lights at the big field got cancelled due to rain. He's a little bummed. Cole however had regionals for track tonight and felt pretty good about is since his coach showed up for practices this week and corrected what he was doing wrong. He qualified in discus for sectionals on Friday. The top 4 go on from regionals. He threw 125.6 which is his best throw by 8 feet. He was pretty excited. I didn't hear the results but he came up and asked if I knew. Now he's really got to work. The top dude threw 148. Cole beat the kid who won conference so that just added to his excitement.
Clay's rockin' out on the guitar. It's fun to see him get so excited.

Gentleman Start Your Engines

Well let's just say the night was exciting. Cole and Nathan were in the car (#69) last night. Cole was the gas man and Nathan had the wheel and brake. They were doing really well. They started up front, fell behind and then started to pass several cars. Car #99 is the car of the guys who got them into this and helped with building their car. Then at about lap 6 out of 8 things went not so good. The brakes ended up locking and the boys crashed into the water barrels. The front fender is smushed and the hood buckled but everyone is OK. This was cool because it happened right in front of the stands and some kids got splashed with the water and sand. If they can get the car in shape they race again Monday. Cole will be the driver and Andrew is the gas man. The car now looks like a true race car. Andrew told them before the race he wanted a dent. I don't think he expected this. By the way I didn't panic or freak. The crew got to them really quickly and they announced that they were OK. The other moms hearts stopped for a brief moment. I just wanted to see them to make sure they were OK. Bill's taking it hard. He's wondering what went wrong with the brakes and wants to make sure that this is ok before he lets them race with the car again. PRO Racing stands for Poeschl, Rogers, Olson racing.

Where did the week go?

It's amazing to think a whole weeks gone by already. This week has been busy.
Cole had Regional and Rosholt relay track meets. He didn't do very well at either. The wind raise havoc with Regionals and he just lost his concentration at the relays. He took 3rd in the Heavy weight relays (3 person 50 yard dash). He's been busy working at school on the weekends. He's got finals coming up but they don't seem like they are going to be tough. A couple of chapter tests and several projects.

Kyle had his last school baseball game. I didn't see it because I was watching Cole but Amy kept me updated. He did very well and finally got to play 1st. He's got 3 games next week for summer league already. Just trying to get him to finish his school on a positive.

Clay had a wonderful but very cold soccer game. He had a great assist with a goal. His coach told me he is a wonderful player. He's just been a busy kid. He has a carnival at school today and should be just wired tonight.

Bill and I have just been busy working and running around with the boys.

Busy week

Cole had a track meet on Monday and took 3rd in the discus. This is good since he has the conference meet on Saturday. He got chosen to attend the solar Olympics at the university today. He and another kid made a solar car that their teacher thought had a chance to win. They didn't place in the top 3 so he doesn't know how they did. Kids were there from all over the state.

Kyle had a great game on Monday. He hit very well and fielded well too. He's only got one more game for school then on to summer ball. He umpired last night and tonight. Bill just went to get him because the game got called because of rain. He's umping tomorrow night also if it doesn't rain.

Clay had an awesome soccer game on Saturday. He scored his first goal and was really excited. He had guitar lessons today and is doing well. If he'd practice more he'd be better.

Bill's on transportation duties this week since I'm working most nights. He got the boys a sponsor for their car. Marv gave them money to put a big energy star emblem on their car. The kids were really excited because it's enough to cover about 4 races.

I just found out that I'm still needed all next week at the place I'm helping out with. The person they hired hasn't got her temporary license yet.

That's the excitement in the Rogers' house this week so far. Jen and Troy have a great time!
Deb I hope you get your roof on soon. Then it'll seem like a real house.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy mother's day to all you wonderful, patient, caring and loving moms. Hope you enjoy your day. If you don't find this funny wait a couple of years it will be hysterical. By the way I did get a hug today. Off to play baseball.

Laughter and Tears

Kyle has to have about 20 pictures for an 8th grade graduation DVD they are putting together. I had pictures pretty organized until about 8 years ago. This is when things just got thrown into a big box. So I'm going through pictures and see Grandma Frost's 80th at Jacquie's. I see pictures of Sherrie without her hair and at all three weddings (remember D did this x2). I see Tim and I playing dress up and in the toy box which we emptied. I watch my son who is driving me crazy grow up before my eyes. I found a picture of Kyle's first pitching event. I believe he hit his first batter. I also see the good, the bad and the ugly bridesmaid dresses we all wore or choose. On a cold rainy day this was fun to see where we were and where we are. I do have to say with the exception of a couple of glibs, life has been pretty good so far. Thank you all for the wonderful memories. Here's to making more.

Motherhood?!!!!!!

Can I just say I would really, really, like to have the cute cuddly, mother worshipping children back? I know most mothers love it when their kids are in school. I HATE it. It's a huge fight all the time. Last night it ended with lots of screaming and a bedroom door getting ripped off the wall. Let's just say there is no longer any cell phone, car, going out, or racing this weekend. As of right now I'm not even sure I'll let him go watch the first virgin running of the car they built. A lot of the moms of these 17 year old boys are ready to join me and send them all to an island far, far, away. On the bright side he is now off academic suspension and can participate in tomorrows track meet. He even would like me to come and watch.

Kyle had a good game yesterday. He had a fantastic grab at third base and threw the guy out at first. He hit once up the middle, right over 2nd base. He walked twice and went down once looking. The guys batting ahead of him the 3rd time up were smashing it out and one was out of the park. Kyle was just waiting for the perfect pitch but got walked without a single strike thrown. He just looked at us and shook his head.

Clay just played the whole game.

As Scarlett O'Hara would say: "Tomorrow is just another day"

Friday!!!

Well it's Friday night. I got my shopping I needed to get done, done. I'm about to hem and make my screen for the outdoor movie nights. Kyle is off to see the movie Wolverine. Cole is out working on the race car. Clay is in the tub. I think this kid should have grown gills by now. Bill's out helping with the car. After I'm done hemming I'm crawling into bed to watch a good movie. Not much going on nice easy night.
