Knights and Fights

Well I guess the kids did inherit something from me. Kyle loved the Medieval Times. "It was better than I thought it would be!" It must have been good because he called me @ 2 just as they were leaving. His Knight was killed by the way.

Fights: Clay feels he's old enough to do whatever, his pediatrician called because his teacher sent him an unflattering report about Clay. B***H. Keep in mind I have heard nothing in like forever. (Sorry, yes I used the unruly "like") Cole thinks we are being unfair about not allowing him to go to LaCross and camp over night with another friend who is also 16. His parents thought they were nuts also. Finals are coming up and life in the Rogers household will not be pleasant. At least he is applying for jobs. Please Del Monte here my call.

Osgood what?!

What the heck is Osgood Slaughter's disease? Well it takes you out of baseball for at least a week. It's official the orthopedic confirmed Kyle has this. His tendon is pulling away from the bone. This is because he is growing and his muscle is growing. His doc said "Not many 13 year old kids have 20 inch thighs that are muscles" Great another terrible thing about puberty. Trust me this is not a time when your kid wants to hear about "When I was your age..."

Kyle has a field trip to the Mid-Evil Times in Schaumburg. Can we say oooo fun. Take 62 kids on a bus for a total of 6 hours and have them sit through a 2 hours. Can we figure out why we have an obesity problem?

For Sale: Handsome, funny, spoiled 16 year old kid. Will work hard. Driving mother nuts.

Oh what a night!

Well let me tell you it's never a dull moment in our lives. Clay had a game tonight. He struck out his first at bat, got mad and threw the bat into the air (straight up). Thank goodness no one got hurt. Kyle has been complaining about his knees the last couple of days and had to sit out most of travel team practice. I thinking I was a good mom, took him into U C. an hour and half later I had a kid in tears thinking he'll have to give up sports. Dr. thinks is oustenslagers disease. Kids tendons tend to swell between the ages of 13-15. Taking him in to see the orthopedic doc tomorrow for a second opinion. Also took him to tour the public middle school. We'll see what he decides. It would be a repeat of curriculum from this year. He of course thought it would be easy since he did it once. Then I get home at 10:30 and Cole asks if he can go to Eau Claire to watch the state track meet. No big deal however he wants to go with another team mate (no parents) and get a campsite. Do I look that stupid?! Now he thinks we're treating him like a 13 year old which Kyle is taking offense to. Boy I wish I drank. Mothers and sisters need to quit laughing thinking this is revenge for my rebellious teenage years.

Hi ho hi ho it's Back to work I go

Why is it even after 3 days of glorious nothing that the first day back is always like a Mon.? Kids are down to 8 days of school. Yeah like this last week for most is ridiculous. Clay has a field trip and a carnival to go to. Kyle is going to the Medieval Times in Shaumburg. He's not happy about it because when the class voted the Brewers were somehow left off. Some of us parents are still toying with the idea of taking them to a game instead. They are studying the middle evil times so this does fit. Cole may be missing school on Friday to go to the State track meet. 3 of his team mates (all girls) made it to state. Cole lettered in track but failed to tell his parents this. He was talking to Nathan's dad while they were here and Jeff congratulated him. Cole's response was "I shouldn't have to tell you, you should know that I'm just so awesome that I'll letter in everything." OY! Kyle's umping tonight. I think I'll go catch the second game to see how he does.

Kyle's Memorial Weekend Update

Today's guest blogger is Kyle D. Rogers!
Memorial Weekend means no school or homework for 3 whole days. Yeah! Last night we went to Raczek's and played around. Mom ate to many s'mores. We are going to watch a movie today or tomorrow. Whenever it rains. I want Indiana but Cole saw it last night. LOSER! couldn't wait for me. We might go see Narnia. I want to see this because everyone says it has a lot of action. We might kill our first chicken today if she doesn't stop sitting on her eggs. I hit three out of the parkers on Friday. (I was standing on 2nd base) I am going to try and get Dad to take me fishing tomorrow. I'm killing Nazi's in the monastery. (Don't panic it's "Metal of Honor: Hero's 2" for the wii) Debby it's better than wii fit. Have a nice rest of the weekend.

Brewers vs Nationals

Brewers lost again not only on the big field but also on the smaller field. Kyles team won 10-6 last night. It was really bragging rights. His traveling team coach was coaching the other team and his son (also Kyle's friend) was pitching. It's fun to watch these kids play against each other because there is no love lost when it comes to winning. Kyle was 3:3 last night . Nice base hits up the middle. He thinks he's on a hitting slump. Traveling team practice tonight with a picnic afterwards. Should be fun.

Cole's going out with friends. I thought they would go to a movie or the races but no. They are all going to a friends to play on the slip 'n slide. I don't know how a 6' kid and a 6'4" kid fit on a slip 'n Slide. Let's hope no emergency room calls tonight.

Clay is just tagging along. Bill is out on his new job (2nd). He's doing warranty claims for cars. We'll see how he likes it.

Have a great Memorial Weekend!

Game Free night!

Clay just had practice last night. Kyle has a game tonight. I have to go to a going away party for one of the PT's I work with. 4th PT in 3 years. The good ones leave and the jerk stays. Any one in business answer me this; Why is it that the biggest jerks, worst workers, and largest jerks get all the perks and have the bosses thinking they're god's gift to the world. Bill found a key chain that he bought me. It says "If you're god's gift to the world I hope he kept the receipt." Off to Margaritaville :)

Yeah We're done

Well Kyle is done with school ball. It was a double header against Assumption. Our coaches ran it terribly. There were 17 kids. They rotated positions every inning and sat every other. All 17 batted which meant that in 1 game Kyle hit once (Line drive up first base. Base hit). He also caught a line drive at first and tried to hide his excitement for about 3 seconds. We lost both games. I got so involved with the game (o.k. with visiting with the moms) I didn't realize what time it was and was 45 mins. late to a Panacea meeting Yikes! Trust me it doesn't pay to be late they assign you the most difficult tasks. Lesson learned when on a committee be early to the meeting. Clay has practice tonight. There are 5 teams so the one with the bye practices.

Baseball scorebox

Well the report from the ball diamond did not look so good to start with yesterday. Kyle started pitching and not being used to a raised mound did not fair very well. The first inning ended with the score 1-8 us being the 1. By the end of the game we tied with the other team 10-10. Thank goodness this is their exhibition season. Yes at 13 you get to do play offs at the end of the season. Personally I think this is for Point vs. Plover bragging rights. Clay did very well at his game and his team won 12-1. Clay can hit now if we can get him to focus on the fielding we'd have a heck of ball player. Cole had a disappointing day. Regional track. He did not qualify for sectionals and is upset. He threw wonderfully at discus (92') the winner was 117. We won't discuss what shotput was only that another sophomore from Pittsville won it. Well at least he can take it easy until June when football speed camp starts. Kyle has his last St. Pete's game today. A double header with Assumption. 2 seasons done 3 to go.

Weekend free of sport?!

I could only wish the boys would relax. Bill took them all fishing on Saturday. They caught a couple of keeper walleye, crappies and a bullhead. They decided to fillet them on my patio. YUCK! Thank goodness for nieces to bring me back to the world of frills. I went to Beth's dance and she was so cute. She defiantly knew her stuff. Today Cole is at track regionals but neither Bill or I can be there because Clay and Kyle both have games and Bill coaches Kyle. Kyle could have actually had 2 games today but he didn't get scheduled for the school game. Tomorrow is Kyle's last school game. I think he'll be glad it's over.
How do you have 4 homers in one game and still loose? Go Brewers!

Kyle vs. West Jr. High

Kyle played West Jr. High. Believe it or not I did not recognize any of the parents. I figured I would know at least one. St. Pete's was up 11-2 in the 5th inning. Some of the boys had to leave. They almost lost the game. The score was 12-11. Kyle was 2:2 today with a single and a double. Kyle then went straight to summer league practice. Clay collected pine cones and we ended up bringing home to bags. Where's Cole? This seems to be the latest question ever since he started to drive. Thank goodness for cell phones! He went to the races with a bunch of guys. I guess him not being around is preparing me for when he goes to college. :(...

Clay corrects the coach

One thing I learned in all my years of playing is you do not correct the coach however, last night even the coach had a hard time disagreeing with an 8 year old. Clay's up to bat the second time he's got 1 strike and then the coach pitches the ball and hits him. The coach asked if he was ok and if he was ready for another ball. Clay dropped the bat put his hands on his hips and told the coach that he should get a walk for being hit. The game stopped for 5 minutes while the coach tried to explain to him that yes that is the correct rule but only in the older leagues. Clay's response was "I am in the older league! I'm 8" Well somehow we all convinced him he was right but we wanted to see him hit. Thank goodness he got a nice base hit.

First blog

Alright! I have caved to the pressure and started this blog. I know I won't be as good as others in keeping it up but I'll try. The Sports report from last night was that Cole ran the Weight run (all discus and shotputters run) and they won. They thought they were disqualified but 2:3 judges said Cole left at the exact time. Pacelli took first place and they are celebrating today. Kyle was 4/4 last night and had a great game. They won (against West Jr. High) 9-1. Clayton plays tonight. 2 more days of work and bring on the weekend!
