A real bromance.

Well my day started off with rumbles of thunder and rain. A nice reason to curl up and pull the covers over my head. The boys (except for Kyle) are still sleeping. I got my confirmation that I won my projector from e-bay. I can't wait to see the outdoor movies. Then Bill calls and tells me his dad is in the hospital. Evidently he told Bill his leg was swollen and sore for the past several days. Bill asked him if he thought it was a clot and he said no. Well guess what it is. It went from his calf to his knee. He's not able to move much and the dr.'s are giving more blood thinners. Love this Leiden factor 5 disorder. Bill and Denise are checking on flight to see the cheapest one they can get if they need to go down.
Wow! Kyle's team took 3rd! This is what they wanted. If they would have taken 2nd they would have went to Knoxville, TN for nationals. Very expensive. The kids were thrilled. There were 16 teams in his division and they only missed 2nd by 3 points. His coach was so very proud of them.
Kyle's on the right. The "problem" they had to do was research 2 different art forms and Morph them into one. They chose (with no parental help) architecture and culinary arts. Kyle is the assistant to the chef.
A large part of the problem is building a structure to hold as much weight as possible. The bottom had to fit a 7x7" block and the insides could not touch the block. The top had to be smaller and had to fit over the pole you see. There is a second piece with the same qualifications. It also can not weigh more that 30grams or for those of you who don't know, no more than the weight of 30 paperclips. That is why the building Kyle is standing in front of looks like it does. Our structure held 160#.It was 66 degrees at 4:28 when the wonderful words were spoken, "Batter Up!" Ben Franklin Jr. High A team vs. St. Peter 8th graders. Kyle played 2nd base to start with. This was a little bit of a shock since they had him practicing at 3rd and 1st for the last 2 weeks. Kyle being Kyle was a little upset but played like the ball player we all know he is. His first hit (which mom must have accidently erased) went just left of 1st base. His second at bat went out over the left fielder for a double. Bases were loaded with this at bat and he drove in two runs. 3rd up was a beautiful line drive up the right of short the center fielder put himself in a great spot for a beautiful snag. Kyle also had 3:4 RBI's tonight. What a way to start the season. Mom of course was very quiet. The final score 11-5. The whole team looked really good.
